Period flu?

Just wondering if anyone is experiencing what I am. I underwent excision surgery for stage 3 endo in November, however more recently the pain is worsening again but right now that’s not the worst symptom- the last 3/4 months, either during or instantly after my period I’m hit with the WORST flu/cold I’ve ever experienced. I’m currently day 7 into this flu and not feeling any better.

I’m talking fever, rashes, sore throat, migraines, cold sweats, nausea. The first month or so I put it down to just a common cold but now I’ve noticed a pattern and it’s every month occurring right around my period. I’m absolutely dreading my period each month now because the flu is completely knocking me, seriously have never felt so unwell with the flu and I’ve heard about “period flu” I’m just wondering if anyone else experiences this, tips or advice?

Hi I had endo excision last summer and stopped taking the minipill last Nov. My endo pain is much better but since my period is back I have had multiple colds, it’s non stop! I also developed pneumonia and experienced cold rashes. I have started taking vitamin C and D to see if I get any better.

Oh wow, I wonder if it’s related. Possible due to the immune system being down if endo is reoccurring or something? So sorry you’ve experienced that, I’m also taking vitamin D and C as I had a blood test in February showing I was deficient

There might be a strong correlation between period/inflammation and poor immune system performance. Taking the right supplements, sleeping well and doing exercise seems to be the best approach :). I hope your symptoms get better and thanks so much for sharing your experience (it’s reassuring to know that I am not the only one with “period flu”. Best

Hi. I'm really sorry your feeling like that. I feel for you. I'm kind of going through the same thing. I haven't been diagnosed yet but waiting for a laparoscopy. I constantly feel like iv got flu or a virus and my gp just isn't listening to me 🤦‍♀️ iv had all the usual blood tests all come back normal. I also feel like I have constant inflammation. Iv always got joint pain like you have when you get the flu. Always suffering with sinuses and headaches. Sometimes it calms down for a bit then comes back with a vengeance. No one seems to get it. But I feel your pain ❤️ x
