Assessment before hysterectomy
I saw my gynaecologist today who has agreed that my best course of treatment would be to have a full laproscopic hysterectomy carried out. He has said that I won't see him again and he will have an urgent referral made to a colleague for counseling prior to the surgery. Can anyone tell me if this is

Update on my dad
So I’m not sure what happened to my other post but since a few are still asking I wanted to do an update again. I wrote in the last one that my dad was intubated on a breathing machine and moved to CCU. Yesterday I promised my dad that tube would be coming out. I didn’t know how or when but I knew it

Ways to stay motivated after panic attacks?
Hello, I'm new here and I decided to join because I need to talk to people who understand what I'm going through without having to worry the ones I love. About 2 months ago, I had two panic attacks (one happening 2 weeks after the other). I have found it hard to stay motivated every day since then. I

We cannot heal a lifetime of pain overnight, with one post or one counselling session. But we can all slowly heal over time . Time does heal . And having patience with ourselves does help x I hope this helps anyone who is stuck in a dark hole thinking they’ll never get out of it . You will x we will

Review
Hi folks, I have my review on Thursday after our 3rd failed fresh icsi. We have 3 frozen embies which we are very thankful for. We have never had frozen before so I was just wondering any questions to ask regarding the fet? Medicated/natural, how many to transfer, implantation testing? Genetic testing

Question please
Hi all, I wondered if someone could help answer a question. We will need our eggs freezing for a couple of weeks (hopefully we will have some) for genetic testing and I wondered someone could tell me how long the process is to get ready for implantation post egg removal? Thanks in advance! x

First counselling tomorrow
Ive never been for counselling before. How much do I tell them? do they want to know about all my life woes or do I just stick to IVF? I am super emotional at the moment, work stress combined with family issues, sisters baby, IVF round 2 looming but late period so can't start... and stupid things like

This Helper Sometimes Gets Overwhelmed
Hi, I am JEG 325. I have been on the ADAA site for about 3 weeks. I love helping people and giving motivational, uplifting comfort to those who need it. Unfortunately, I get overwhelmed myself sometimes. I suffer from amxiety, depression, panic disorder & PTSD. The other thing is that I don't believe

To Those Left Behind After a Suicide
So a little context here -- I wrote this a couple of months ago after a series of three suicides in a short period of time touched my life. Having been suicidal myself and nearly taking my own life 2.5 years ago, my brain started spinning and I ended up composing a large chunk of the following letter

ASH paper re younger MPN patients, dx age <= 40
Hi younger MPN'ers, I do not very often come across papers aimed at younger MPN patients so thought I would highlight this one that is being presented at the ASH conference in December. Nice to see that younger patients are being considered. 3033 Myeloproliferative Neoplasms in Young Patients: The Mayo

How do you solve a problem like Maria’s??
How do you solve a problem like Maria’?? My friend, Maria, diagnosed out of the blue in her mid forties 10 years ago is now battling problems with freezing and lack of balance. Her freezing can be unpredictable and happens anytime in spite of medication. Stress seems to play a big role as the trigger

I just got diagnosed with Fredreich's Ataxia through genetic testing. Finally got answers! Does anyone else have Fredriech's Ataxia? I am 38 but symptoms began 15 years ago. What can I expect? Anyone do therapy to help? I have lived with this for 15 years, and we'll just continue living life to the

Is no news, good news?
So… yesterday was “D Day.” My long awaited appointment with the “Big Dawg,” the Consultant Neurologist!! I had seen the neurology registrar, back on August 22, and she had ordered a battery of tests. Yesterday’s appointment was the follow-up, to go over the test results, that had hopefully determined

Cabin Fever
Ok.. so I haven’t left the house now for nearly 3 weeks.. been sick off work as I am in terrible pain. I had my first Toci infusion and my neck and shoulders flared up so bad after I can’t move! My husband called 111 on Saturday and they sent the paramedics round who were brilliant of course! Morphine

Here's our story
According to my husband's GP, Urologist and now, Oncologist, he shouldn't be at Stage 4 with multiple metasteses (skull, scapula and ribs). Just this past April (2018), his PSA reached 4, and his GP said that is was going up more quickly than he liked, and suggested we visit a Urologist. The Urologist

Genetic Testing for PKD1 vs PKD2
Has anyone gone through genetic testing to determine whether you have the PKD1 vs. PKD2 mutation? My nephrologist is thinking about requesting the test to help determine how quickly my PKD will progress. I'm 51, ADPKD Stage 3 with an eGFR of 31. Thanks.

After going to counseling for a while in August I thought I improved on my anxiety and that I was a bit better. I didn't have any friends for a few years until this September I managed to make some and I am friends with two girls but I can't be myself around them and it's like all the progress I made
