Finally Diagnosed

I was finally referred to a Podiatrist at a bigger hospital and she took one look at me and said I was classic for CMT and diagnossed me on the spot she said I could get genetic testing done but it wouldn't change anything so unless I need to not going to bother. Just glad to have an answer to my pain.

I'm sorry you have CMT but glad you have an answer.

One reason to go to a neurologist is to get confirmation of the diagnosis, which you have decided not to pursue, but another is that he/she can refer you to other health professionals who may be able to help with practical things like exercises and footwear.

I hope that your sons have not inherited it, and that you will be able to get the help and support you need,.

Great that you got a diagnosis however this diagnosis is no fun. But you already have all kind of nasty symptoms and health conditions so you know.

Can you make a picture of your feet and lower legs and post it here? I am very curious, as I am myself awaiting diagnosis for years now, what was classic CMT according to the hospital?

i did an experiment and started a new post; there was indeed a box to click to add a photo. Then I dragged an image from my desktop onto/into the post, discovered it worked, so cancelled it. That is really useful to know. Maybe there's no way to add a pic to an ordinary reply.
