Feeling low
Hello everyone. Well, it’s 11 months since my lovely Mum died and 10 months since HA. I’m confused! I thought a HA was a totally blocked artery. Mine was a small narrowing and they put a little stent in. I am battling with anxiety and depression on a daily basis and feel sometimes that my life is over

Relapse Post radical debulking and first line chemo treatment
Hi all, Apologies if this has been covered in previous posts, however, i couldn't find any information from what I've read thus far. Is there a specific type of ovarian cancer cell that responds better to inhibitors? From what I've read, most ovarian cancers are epithelial and I'm assuming most of the

Possible B12 deficiency, feeling so very unwell
I’m seeing the doctor this afternoon about possible B12 deficiency symptoms. Any advice on how to approach this with the doctor would be really appreciated. Brief history: I’m 36, mum of 3 boys. I’ve got an under active thyroid, my dose at moment is 75mcg levothyroxine daily, this (I’m told) is keeping

Went and saw a MH professional today for what was essentially a watered down evaluation. Broke down and cried in the office. Admitted to her that I was thinking about death and dying. I told her that I don't want to feel this way anymore and that I need more help. She was kind, but worried. I had to

Pre implantation genetic testing (PGT)
Hi, has anyone had the embryo screening done? My first transfer failed with no explanation. Clinic said I had the best chance, the blastocysts were of good quality and everything was in my favour. They were shocked it didn't develop. We are going to pay to have this testing done, we are very lucky to

Melanoma and genetics
I was going to make this a long message, but decided to just give you a brief rundown. When my son's melanoma reoccurred in 3025, he got genetic testing under advisement of his oncologist. I will be eternally grateful that he did. My husband, my son's father, was diagnosed with melanoma in 1993. Turns

BRCA genetic testing ?
Hi there, This question has actually been on my mind for years, even before my dad’s cancer diagnosis. Both of my paternal grandparents died of cancer, my grandmother developed breast cancer in her 40s. Now my dad has pca and the more I read about the link between breast and prostate cancers and the

Feeling rubbish
Hello been a good few months since I’ve been on here, but needed to reach out. Been really weak the last few days like weak legs and just exhausted! Got to get to work today then 3 days off to recover I hope. I think it’s the anxiety creeping back in, been doing some counselling but they have discharged

Conversion problems
My mum recently under went private blood tests because her T4 & TSH were both high and have been difficult to control over the past year with GP moving her dosage about which hasn't helped. The problems seems to have started since taking a statin but maybe coincidental. Mum was taking the statin at

Care Giving of a depressed person! I live with my younger sister who suffers from anxiety and depression. She is in counseling and takes Prozac and Xanax but it doesn't seem to be helping. I need some tips on how to not only help her but help ME understand. I have been there, too. Seems it runs in

The long road to reaching my goals
I've been away for quite some time but used to post here regularly... I was constantly missing my goals and beating myself up. I made some changes and I want to share them here. When I first joined this forum, I was just under 12 stone. I'm 5 foot exactly so classed obese and feeling desperately unhappy

Flashbacks, Dreams and Chest pains
Wonder if anyone can help me... Over the last two to three months, I have been having some disturbing and distressing dreams/nightmares and flashbacks. I know I was abused as a child by a family member. But somehow, I managed to successfully put all those experiences in a 'box'. But a gew years ago,

Aldosterone, AF, and genetic link
Hi, not sure if anyone else has posted on this, sorry if they have already. Some research suggests a link between hyperaldosterone and AF... also people with AF who have had genetic testing done have found a mutation with their CYP11B2 gene. This gene regulates aldosterone. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov

Whats happening really!!
I'm so sorry for your relationship struggles with your mom and your battle with drugs. If you're planning on going back to college after the semester break, you might want to set up an appointment to speak with a mental health counselor at your school. Most schools have a counseling center on campus

Hi all, this is my first post and I’m a little unsure of where to start. Had a break down three weeks ago now and have been off work since while the meds set in. I’m having private counselling and that does help a bit but I’m lost between my sessions. My doctors note says to do two half days this
