Accessing T3

Over 15 years ago a NHS consultant recommended that i take T3 along with T4 resulting in GP prescribing T3. . About 5 years ago local NHS refused to carry on prescribing T3 even though i had a genetic test proviing that I don't convert T4 to T3 readily. My supplier of T3 no longer seems to exist. Anyone know where i can obtain T3 from?

Have you considered private prescription

Thybon Henning 20mcg tablets T3 are £50-£60 per 100 tablets

Email Thyroid U.K. for list of thyroid specialist endocrinologists and doctors who will prescribe T3

You could always try the GP again as well as sourcing your own. Things might have changed and your need should be on your records.

hi, I would recommend that you ask to see a NHS consultant because they can arrange it so the gp practice can give you t3 on prescription at no expense to themselves, see NICE guidelines regarding this. When you get to your NHS consultant just tell them that you have been given a private prescription from ... The NHS consultant can give you a prescription then and there, but make sure you get an out of hospital one as the hospital pharmacy will not stock liothyronine. Also I've pm'd you where to get them from privately.

JW20,

Sources for non-prescription T3 need to be sent by private message only.

That said, if you do receive any details of suppliers by message, it is strongly advised that you contact either myself or another member of the Admin team to see if we have any feedback on them.

Unfortunately, we know there are unscrupulous suppliers who take your money, tell you your order has been despatched, but the medication never arrives.
