Had Gastroscopy yesterday,
The gastroscopy yesterday, was a bit uncomfortable only had a throat spray so I could drive home after. Well had a few problems due to my dr telling me a few years ago that I did not need to take acid meds everyday as I was doing and to only take them when needed ! so I followed his instructions !

Cancer referral nightmare
Hello - my name is Kevin and I have just joined this community. As the title suggests, I am currently enduring an anxiety-ridden wait for a yes/no answer as to whether I have stomach cancer, and am wondering if anyone else has/is experiencing something similar? I was referred by my GP on 5 August to

Achalasia newbie
For the past 2 years I have been keeping a health diary of the number of times I threw up, wretched, gagged and had chest pains at the same time as my consultant has tried to identify what was wrong. After a gastroscopy, barium meal and my 2nd oesophageal manometries I was finally diagnosed with achalasia

Pred and gastroscopy
I’m having a gastroscope on Wednesday at 8.30 am. I usually take me Pred with breakfast around 8.30 - 9.00. I’ve been given conflicting advice about when to take it to accommodate the gastroscope. One nurse in that department said to just miss a day (!) . I later spoke to someone else in the department

Potential Covid-2019 vaccine side effect
I would like to know if any of our MS colleagues had any long lasting (more than a month) diarrhea symptom following mRNA (Pfizer) Covid-2019 vaccine. I am 68 years old, MS diagnosed 6 years ago, under daily Copaxon injection DMT therapy. For decades I suffered from constipation and recently I started

2yr post op digestive trouble
2 yrs post TAH BSO due to 22cm ovarian cyst. I have had what I assumed to be 'swelly belly' quite a lot since, especially after physical effort. In the last few months my digestive system has been troubling me. Apologies in advance. Bowel movements have changed in regularity and nature, I feel hugely

I am tired of high GGT, ALT and ALP
After my gallbladder surgery in March I keep taking liver function tests and they are not improving. I had all of it - colonoscopy,MRI, CT, gastroscopy and fibroscan. All is normal. But why GGT sits in 130, ALP in 150 and ALT in 60? It has been like that for 4 months and no improvement. :( . Pain

Ibs flare up or something else?
Last
gastrostomy
2 years ago showed mild gastritis, and confirmed im not celiac but was given antibiotics anyway which calmed things down . Could it be a returning H.pylori infection? Could my hypothyroidism be contributing to my stomach issues? Should I go to the docs? Cheers

Air travel, gastroscopy and non alcoholic beverages
My hubby has been diagnosed with cirrhosis. He had ascites which has been drained. He is now at home on a high protein, carb diet and low salt. He has stopped drinking alcohol since he was discharged home. He was an habit drinker and has had no symptoms of withdrawal. When out socialising he drinks

Trying an experiment, early days
Hi guys, all has been quiet lately apart from three brief AFib episodes in January sorted out with an additional 100 mg of Flecainide in addition to my daily 9.00 pm one. Notes on each of the last six episodes 3 in 2019 and 3 this year have this common feature “very bloated”. My cardiologist sent me

Help needed in long term effects of RAI for Graves Disease, long term use of Levothyroxine and how I go about transitioning to NDT.
Hi all, To give a brief history - I was diagnosed with Graves’ Disease in 2000. After 6 years on Propananol, Levothyroxine and Carbimazole, I had Radio Active Iodine in 2006 and have been on varying doses of Levothyroxine ever since. During my routine yearly blood test at the end of 2019 it was detected
