Abdominal pain.
I’ve been a weekend binge drinker most of my life, I haven’t had an alcohol since 2019 but three weeks ago I had a seizure and was taken to hospital. I had an abdominal CT scan last year which I was told was ok apart from cysts on liver and kidneys, I also had a colonoscopy and gastroscopy last year

GORD and asthma
Anyone else here with GORD and asthma? I have both and a lot of the time I'm breathless and fatigued. I had a gastroscopy today and nothing showed up. The Consultant declared 'Good news!' but I had been hoping there was something wrong like an ulcer, that I could work on and be well again. She did take

Gastroscopy tomorrow and I’m absolutely terrified, had one years ago and it didn’t go well so worried that this will be the same.

Prickly pains in abdomen
Hi everybody, I'm back again. Don't know if anyone can help with this. I have ARLD, cirrhosis, early stages it seems. Three small columns of oesophageal varices and moderately severe portal hypertensive gastritis were found during my gastroscopy on 26th May. I've been having strange prickly pains in

Gastritis and Iron tablets
Following a recent blood test where the following levels were reported-iron 10 umol; ferritin 18ugl; tsr 15.3%; my GP wasn’t keen on giving me iron tablets said they could be “nasty” but didn’t explain the impact they could have on my atrophic gastritis !I am struggling to keep pain free from the latter

Gastroscopy to check for varices
Right, I'm at the next step in my Alcohol Related Liver Disease Journey. After being advised in February that I may have Cirrhosis and portal hypertension I ceased drinking. Have done quite well with a couple of relapses with visitors, just the one day each time then back on the wagon. I had the ultra

Use of adjustable bed with cirrhosis and COPD
Hi, I've recently been diagnosed with alcohol related cirrhosis. Had a long conversation with my consultant last week and apparently I'm at stage A which is quite good to hear. I have a gastroscopy booked for 26th to check for varices and will be having a bone scan, vitamin check and tests to check

Increasing Prednisone before hospital visit
I have tried to contact my rheumatology department and GP but with no luck. I'm having a gastroscopy and colonoscopy tomorrow. Previously pre-surgery I have upped my steroid dose for a day to cope with the stress, and I wonder if I should do this tomorrow. I am very nervous about it. My current dose

Scared about being prescribed Clarithomycin for H Pylori
Hi, scared about the situation I am in and would appreciate people's thoughts. I had a stent fitted last December and have had pains in my chest which seem to be stomach related (after a lot of visits to A & E and a gastrocsopy). I had a gastroscopy in February which found I had erosive gastritis.

Nausea
Hi there. I got methotrexate injection in March and I had really severe nausea after it. It lasted for 4 weeks. My rheumatologist said that she didn't want me to take it again and sent me to gastro doc to investigate my stomach. So had a colonoscopy and gastroscopy. It showed stomach inflammation (

Whether to push for a diagnosis
Hello All, my first post and I'm afraid it will be a long one but perhaps someone has had similar experiences and can help. I am male and 53 years old. I’ve had a diagnosis of Raynaud’s since my teens. Over the last ten years or so I developed visible red veins on the backs of my hands, forearms, feet

Cheerful news
I have posted a few times before with questions. Today is a cheerful post. I have decompensated cirrhosis with varices and ascites. I had a stint in rehab in January which I actually enjoyed quite a lot of (it cost a lot though) I was on 6-8 weekly gastroscopies, usually with banding because of two life

Endocrinologist - nice, but hopeless
Good morning all. I finally had my first endocrinology appointment this morning. Result was not entirely surprising given people's experiences discussed here. He was very nice but clearly clueless on thyroid issues (my appointment was in the diabetes centre, says it all really 🙄). He confirmed I have

Shoulder/ neck / upper arm
hi, my HA and stents were 15 months ago. I've had on and off pains in the chest area and gone back to A&E about 5 or 6 times in that time, each time the blood tests showed no cardiac issue, so what is it? I've tried everything so my GP has sent me for more tests including gastroscopy next week. Recently
