hi all, I'm having a gastroscopy and colonoscopy on Friday, not sure what they are looking for (had a letter to report to GP after giving blood donation saying iron levels low) not looking forward to it I have transport available -- should I take the option of sedation?

Surgery or not!
Hi, I’m 77 years of age and I’ve just joined the Macmillan Cancer Club. My story is that following some difficulties swallowing, in April 2021, I had a gastroscopy and was diagnosed with T3N2M0 oesophageal cancer. I had radical chemoradiotherapy treatment for 6 weeks in July / August that year. After

Advice needed- do I have pernicious anemia?
Hi everyone! So I was hoping to get some advice on whether it's likely I have pernicious anemia based on my symptoms and B12 readings. My symptoms started back in 2011, when I was only 18. I started having these weird "episodes" where I would feel dizzy/almost drunk, my legs and arms would feel heavy

Total Gastrectomy
Hi Has anyone had a total gastrectomy that is willing to contact me and give me advice etc. I am due to have one in November due to a large adenoma in my stomach which they cannot be 100% sure does not have cancer in. Obviously I am very scared at the prospect of having no stomach. I have had APS

Oh dear!
After gastroscopy I have been sticking to a dairy and gluten free diet, managed to get down to 3.5mg Prednisolone and was doing really well but with increasing pain , I'm back up to 5mg. Do I contact GP they seem to have forgotten me? Or persevere on my own!

Getting constantly dismissed and still under investigations
Been suffering on and off for years but last three years have been horrendous, finally got referred by my gp to see Gynae who blamed all my symptoms on Gastro. I've had a colonoscopy, endoscopy and a gastroscopy to be told by my gastro specialist that its not gastro related which I already knew. Ive

Feel like giving up

I have so many ongoing, chronic, worsening symptoms that are really having a significant impact on my ability to lead a somewhat 'normal' life - chronic reflux and stomach issues, lower digestive issues, gynae issues/fibroid, joint stiffness and mild

can allergies affect liver and cause problems to it?
Hello, sorry if it's a dumb question, I'm still pretty new with liver diseases. So I read that allergies can affect the liver and causing problems to it, but of course I don't want to just ask Dr. Google about it. :) I wrote about my spider nevi on another post what I got around age of 14 on the chest

Gastroscopy Procedure Query
Hi. Just wondered if anyone has had a gastroscopy with PV on Hydroxy and aspirin? I need to have some polyps removed and the letter says I should just continue with all my meds prior to the procedure. I've emailed Haematology for advice but wondered if anyone else had experience of this procedure

Well.....
I finally had my urgent gastroscopy!! Nothing sinister thank goodness, few problems and one is candida( thrush) down Oesophagus. I did some googling and it can cause severe aches in joints!!!!(One GP I saw not convinced I had PMR) Anyway I've started on gluten & dairy free diet...what a difference

Hi, I'm still very much in that 'more questions than answers' phase regarding my health with a mix of thyroid, anaemia and perimenopause issues going on. Due to repeated low iron over many years, I'm thankful the NHS is now looking into the cause and I have a colonoscopy and gastroscopy arranged

Candida, Helicobacter Pylori, weight loss and horrible sleep
My health crisis started from a high stress time with lockdowns and work battles and also end of 2021 I got mild covid and lost my taste and smell for almost a month. Since then I haven't felt right, constantly lethargic like chronic fatigue. After a traumatic breakup the previous year I met someone

Multiple duodenal biopsies were taken at that time, which were normal. Last week I underwent a colonoscopy, which more than explained the heading to

Gastroscopy/ Throat spray/Medazolam sedative
I had this procedure done yesterday for the second time in 3 months. First time a nurse sprayed my throat once which was fine, but yesterday a doc must have sprayed it about half a dozen times which burned and made my throat feel like it was tightening. Has anyone else had this effect? Also had sedation
