Oh dear!

After gastroscopy I have been sticking to a dairy and gluten free diet, managed to get down to 3.5mg Prednisolone and was doing really well but with increasing pain , I'm back up to 5mg. Do I contact GP they seem to have forgotten me? Or persevere on my own!

I would say it depends on your relationship with your GP. Mine is happy for me to control my dosage. I had to go up from 4mg to 9mg, now on 6.25mg and have not kept my GP informed of my dose

I've seen / had contact with 6 different doctors over the past year. Last GP said so many red flags on my records that were not acted on and he wasn't happy, sent me for urgent gastroscopy that got " lost" in system and nothing at all since!! Been doing my own thing sensibly as meds on repeat. Sorry for moaning xxxx

"was doing really well but with increasing pain"

You can't say that in the same sentence if you have PMR and the pain is PMR in nature.

With your back story - I think you probably need to be proactive.

What do you mean by struggling?

Back pain, general stiffness.

Sounds like PMR waking up - but also typical of adrenal insufficiency too. The first would get worse over time, the second should improve.

I think that is a very good idea! If it isn't enough - add 5mg for a few days and then go back to 5mg.
