after eating I regularly feel uncomfortable & need to relieve it by bringing up a white substance, there is no burning, so is this acid?
I am taking esomeprazole but don't think it really works. I have tried ranitidine & omeprazole which didn't work either. I have been avoiding foods like tomatoes, onion, garlic, caffeine but I still find that I get this uncomfortable feeling instantly when I eat something that doesn't agree with me.

Info on PPI's anyone?
Hi all, Just come back from my "ultimate camera exprience" as I like to call it - colonoscopy and gastroscopy - and all seems well except for a minute polyp and, apparently, to much stomach acid!!!!! which I found strange as hypo patients normally have to little stomach acid, and this is causing inflamation

General whinge as I'm in need of sympathy
Hi Guys, not posted for a while due to family emergency I mentioned back in September and loss of job a month later. Starting to pick myself back up fighting back. Anyhoo, those that have known me for a while will know I have been sent to virtually every hospital department over the past year in an attempt

Drug Side Effects - Advice needed please - Adcal/Omeprazole
Read an article stating that some oral bisphosphonates (alandronic acid) prescribed for osteoporosis have been linked with bone loss and to ask your doctor to be changed to another treatment if you are noticing symptoms such as heartburn, or acid reflux and to be sure to have regular dental check-ups

Hospital appointment this afternoon
Hi, I've got an appointment at the hospital about my voice later this afternoon & I'm really worried about what they're going to find. When I saw my gastro cons at my follow up appt after the gastroscopy he said that there was no way the endo had damaged my throat & it sounded to him as my voice was

Naproxen Versus Tramadol
Had my follow up with the gen surgeon about my gastroscopy, & luckily the biopsies came back ok - phee ew! - but, he reckons that Tramadol is okay in his opinion - he thinks that Naproxen is the baddie. It's because it's in the ibuprofen family & could cause ulcers & although I'm also taking Lansoprazole

CT scan of neck and chest - would I have been told there and then it it had of showed nodules?
I had a ct scan a week ago and I'm now getting a bit impatient, I'm having a gastroscopy in two weeks so I presume won't see the consultant until after that. Do you think that I would have been told if the CT scan showed nodules? I'm hypo on thyroxine for a couple of years. As swallowing has become

Bit confused
I was diagnosed with ALD and cirrhosis in April by ultrasound and blood tests. I was quite ill with ascites at that point and it had to be drained. I have been following the dieticians advice on low salt diet, stopped drinking (4 months now), had a gastroscopy which showed one barely visible varices

What is expected with a Gastroscopy? What is it?
I had an appointment with my liver consultant last week. There was a bit on the bottom of the letter that said to be prepared for any admissions but I think that is just a standard thing on the letters. On the day I didnt even get to see the consultant and was seen hurriedly by a registrar who had me

Is this not a bit drastic?
Hi All, Has anyone on here been sent for a Gastroscopy AND a Colonoscopy because they are low in iron? Seems a bit OTT to me seeing as my GP ignored my blood results for well over a year. The only reason these tests have come about is because my endo wanted me referred to a gastroenterologist which
