Abnormal cells
I had a call in January from the hospital, advising they had found abnormal cells when I had my routine gastroscopy in December. I was diagnosed with Barratt's Oesophagus 8 years ago and this is the first time they have found an abnormality. The said they will rescope in June, and I am booked in for

Rash after going gluten free? Is this normal?
Had a gastroscopy 4 weeks ago and been GF since. 3 weeks ago we had some sun and I broke out in a wee rash on my arms and upper chest, 2 weeks ago the same but a bit worse and this week has been impossible. I look like I've been bitten all over my arms, upper chest, upper back and a bit here and there

Has anyone else had this?

gastroscopy and dental damage
I've had an appointment made by my doctor for a gastroscopy because I've recently been suffering from acid reflux/heartburn. She had put me on lanzaprazole for a month which worked very well, however once prescription finished it has come back again. She is loathe to prescribe long term until it is

how long should it take for a gastroscopy biopsy to be analysed and reported?
I had a gastroscopy 3 weeks and 5 days ago. (yes - i'm counting!) Still not got the results. I called the hospital and they said a letter had been dictated.....but two days later, still nothing. Is this time lapse common?

I wonder if anyone else has this dilemma. I had a gastroscopy done last October to test for coeliac disease. My father, sister and a first
cousin have the condition and as I had all the same symptoms I went gluten free for nearly a year before I had the scope done. I could only stay on gluten for 3 and half weeks as I got so ill and and felt system failure with even my kidneys not working properly. My test came back negative. I was amazed

My soon to be 18yr old daughter has had her life thwarted over the past 2 years with her symptoms
Chronic persistent nausea , abdo pain, irreg bowel habit ( predominantly constipation than diarrhoea but does have both) bloating reflux symptoms and sometimes rectal pain. On top of all this was diagnosed with endometriosis last year, we thought all would settle how wrong we were. She has had to pull

Subsidies on beds?
I had an Oesophagectomy and Gastrectomy last January and everything has gone really well apart from I now have trouble sleeping a lot of the time - not necessarily due to reflux, thankfully I'm not plagued with that but due to ongoing discomfort in my back and side. I was looking into a tempur mattress

Has anyone had a CTVC of the colon, if so how was it?
Hi folks, Hope you are all feeling ok and not in too much pain. I went for a gastroscopy and colonoscopy yesterday. Found it very, very uncomfortable as the sedatives did not work at all!! They now say they want to do a CTVC of my colon. To be honest I cannot bear the thought of going through this again

In the well of self-pity, acid reflux and post ATOS WCA gloom....
I am feeling rather sorry for myself today and needing to let off steam and also see if anyone has any advice. I had the pleasure of a gastroscopy last week - during which a hiatus hernia was discovered - and then a protracted ATOS WCA a couple of days later (took over two and a half hours, much of

Gastroscopy.
I took advice from members here and asked firmly for a better sedative. I had spent all night worrying, even developing an asthmatic cough because of the stress. The nurses were very kind, listened to my fears and past experiences and informed the doctor of how nervous and tearful I was. He gave me

Side effects of esomaprazole. I have been taking esomaprazole for my acid reflux for 2 weeks ( after gastroscopy which revealed weak gullet
and stomach ) but no damage, but the weakening meant that acid leaking up into my throat and mouth. Was prescribed esomaprazole which I took for 2 weeks but I was beginning to get prolonged periods of fatigue and feeling very unsteady not exactly dizzy but very disconcerting generally feeling peculiar

I have had a gastroscopy after being diagnosed with GERD and been prescribed esomaprazole which I will take although reluctant
as my reflux is bad at night. In the last couple of weeks! I have been getting stomach ache ( abdominal pain) not cramps a general discomfort. not unlike period pain ( I am 66 so not that ) Could that the acid reflux or is it more likely to be a resurgence of ibs symptoms getting slight nausea sometimes

I went on the gluten challenge recently and only managed 3 and half weeks on it as got so debilitated. I'm waiting for the follow up after
the gastroscopy but I've become even more intolerant as a result. I've been glutened twice in 2 months and suffer a really bad backache immediately as well as the usual fatigue. I come from a family of Coeliacs who persuaded me to take up the challenge but I fear I've done myself a great deal of damage
