Should I expect a cold virus to hit me harder and take longer to get over than before I became hypothyroid?
My recovery from undiagnosed hypothyroidism had been going so well. Nearly a year on and I was feeling like my 'old' (well) self... then I got a 'little' cold! I've spent four days in bed, exhausted and feeling back to square one. I know colds can be horrible and I'm sure I'll be over it soon, but do

RLS and Omega 3 Fish Oil
Hello everybody I just wanted to share this article about the benefits of Omega 3 on RLS, it might be exaggerating too much, but we can at least share our experiences regarding to this issue, here is the article : n-3 fatty acids (popularly referred to as w-3 fatty acids or omega-3 fatty acids)

Wheres the best pain clinic for internal spinal cord stimulator?
I have been all over the country going to pain clinics and neuro surgeons. I have syringomyelia which has caused lots of pain down my left leg and round the left side of my chest. I have been to top hospitals in Liverpool, Preston and London. Ideally I would want to go to a hospital in the north

My 34yr old wife has recently been told she has COPD!!!
I am a 42yr old ex-squaddie and we have recently found out my 34yr old wife (mother of 3) has been diagnosed with COPD following her being hospitalised for 18 days in July / August 2012 with a pneumothorax and clinical emphysema. Has any female with AMN had kidney problems? I was diagnosed with end stage renal failure early this year. Came out of nowhere.
I am 65 and started having AMN symptoms in my early 40's. I was diagnosed in 1998 after my second one week visit to the Mayo, first visit was in 1991 with no diagnosis. Then the very long chain fatty acid link with AMN was discovered and that is how they finally discovered what I have when I went back

Hi! I've had a failed hysterectomy. Had chocolate cysts (largest 12cm with which they removed the ovary), fibroid's etc.
Been told I have a frozen pelvis (risk of having a bag for life if they did the job I was told). I was on Prostap 3. I have sought a second opinion but they won't touch me after my op record's. Now on Noresthisterone, for how ever long. I am nearly 40. Swollen joints, especially in the right hand, cold

how to deal with a cold
from a handy website Adults average two to four colds a year, and the typical upper respiratory infection takes up to 10 days to get over. But that first sniffle, throat tickle, or cough doesn’t have to be all doom and gloom. ....there are other cold-fighting heroes out there, too. 1. Pop zinc

Is it really COPD?
I have been diagnosed with mild COPD but I wondered if anybody else suffers strange attacks. I become sort of lightheaded, not giddy, but a strange feeling and then I feel breathless and as though I am going to fall over. It is accompanied by real weakness which can last for some time-an hour or more

I am a 62 year old widow who was told she had C.O.P.D December 2011. I don't know if it is mild, but take it it must be as I wasn't given any other information. I have had an appointment sent out to me for yearly check up but don't know what questions to ask. I was given Tiotropium and Ventolin and

endo/adhesions in lower back?
Wondering if anyone has ever developed endo or adhesions in the lower back? My back pain started a few months before my first lap but my GP said it was just my joints and to take some cod-liver oil. Ever since my lap the pain in my back can get really bad sometimes. It's my lower back, right in the middle

AIR QUALITY in Britain - does this exacerbate our breathing problems ?
Have just returned from my usual visit to Sicily - this time for Christmass, blue skies, warm sunshine tea shirts and shorts , and THAT AIR - clear as a bell, within an hour I put all my inhaylers away and barely used them for nearly two weeks. Within 20 minuets of returning to Gatwick Airport and

Cold sores (Herpes virus) children immune suppressed
Hi My 4 year old was born with Biliary Atresia . He had the Kasai at 12 weeks and then had a transplant at 10 months old. At the moment he is getting a lot of cold sores. Each time we need to put him on a 5 day course of Aciclovir. When his brother gets cold sores he still needs to go on Aciclovir
