NEIGHBOUR JUST GOT COVID VAX
Quick one - I think. My neighbour, who helps me during these back issues, just got a Covid booster and Flu vax yesterday. Is it possible for her to transmit the virus to me? Is "immune compromised" the correct term for us PMR folk? Am I being paranoid? TIA

Treating PVCS on a virtual ward
I have posted on here a number of times about the burden of persistent PVCs. Anyway, after 5 days of feeling very dizzy and nauseous, I went to see my GP. She sent me straight to my local hospital which is a big teaching hospital. I was seen in the Same Day Emergency Medicine unit who were thorough and

GCA-Lyme Disease Connection?
Hi all, My wife is a long-time Lyme Disease sufferer, and has recently had a consultation with a biologist/pathologist. This person takes a blood sample and then looks at it under the microscope while the patient is present -- and then comments on what has been seen. My wife had the classic signs

COVID vaccine - old stock in use in the UK
Apparently, in order to save money, the British government decided to use the old stock of COVID vaccines, and they were doing so until a week (or so) ago. Hence, more than 2.3 million older and immunosuppressed people received the vaccine that does not match the dominant strain (XBB ), including people

Better after covid
I've had PMR for more that two years, am now down to 2.5 mg. A month ago I also had covid, like a very bad cold plus diarrhea. It lasted two weeks. Now I'm recovered from the covid I feel better than I have in more than a year. That dragging feeling of weakness and fatigue I've had for months has gone

Severe insomnia and limited meds to take while on Hydroxy.
Hi all, first timer on this thread. I’ve been on Plaquenil for 5-years to treat RA and also on antidepressant Celexa (10mg) for the last 10 years. In 2022, my primary dr suddenly alarmed me that I can no longer take Celexa due to IQ heart issues that was found during the Covid pandemic when so many

Hide Covid ad
This may sound silly, but I am very excited because I figured out how to hide the Covid ad that pops up after every initial post. Covid was the cause of my major anxiety, and every time I looked at the ad it would remind me of what makes me anxious. I'm not sure why they allowed this kind of an ad

Hand rash/chicken pox
Doctors are so annoying and not helpful. I have taken 2 weeks off work now. I had burning red spots on my hand then started getting patchy rashes on hands then spots over my body and face -, chciken pox. Docs said hands are different to face ( my renal consultant). Done lots of blood tests and all they

Home again!
My trip overseas was very hot and the river cruise was great-no cooking for nearly a month! The downside is that after I travel home in the giant aluminium tube that recirculates air for about 800+ travellers, I managed to get Covid. No probs, got the anti virals and wondered why I wasn't getting better
