hi I am taking Adalimumab started about two months ago alongside Methotrexate injections. Does anyone know if I have to stop the Biologic for covid jab as I usually stop Methotrexate for tw weeks. ☺️
Adalimumab and covid vaccine: hi I am taking Adalimumab... - NRAS

Best thing is to contact your rheumatology team. I've checked with mine but that advice may not be appropriate for you.
It seems most people on biologics are told not to stop it. However, it would be best to contact your rheumatology team as they know your individual situation best.
Well I didn’t . I only started Amgevita (Adalimumab) in June and although with previous Covid jabs I’d always paused my methotrexate for 2 weeks I really couldn’t see how l could practically do that with a two weekly injection, especially in the early days of this treatment. The medication presumably stays in you for 2 weeks so it could mean a month at least without -depending on the timing of the jab.
Recommended for us to do BIOLOGICS: 2 wks before or 2 wk after “getting a VACCINE”.
Since BOTH ‘infusion/injections” are pulling on the IMMUNE SYSTEM.
Also- NEVER get the FLU Vaccine & COVID Vaccine on SAME DAY.
If you could be ALLERGIC or ‘have a REACTION’ to the UPDATED yearly VACCINES; a Dr will not Know “which one” caused the BAD REACTION.
Plus- “BOTH Vaccines” can be a TUG on your IMMUNE SYSTEM.
Lastly, NEVER get ANY VACCINE if you have a Virus/Cold/allergies out of whack/ etc- in essence, be STRONG going in to get ANY VACCINE.
Vaccines will make it HARDER for you to RECOVER from your existing “Virus/LUPUS FLARE/ ETC.” if not healthy.
I had my Covid and flu vaccinations 2 Saturdays ago. I asked my biologic nurse if I had to stop Methotrexate and Imraldi. ( Humira) at all and was told not to, even though before I had been told to the week before and after. Would your Rheumatology department have a Website you can look at?
