I'm having a bad flare up after 12 good months and I despair at what to do next. I'm in so much discomfort and don't know which way to turn.
The dietician told me to do the
fodmap
elimination stage 3 times, even though I had already identified I was fructose intolerant. This would have meant that I stayed in the elimination stage for 10 months. The colonoscopy found polyps that were removed, but nothing else. What should I do next?

Could bread additives cause AF?
After reading about people on this site going onto the
Fodmap
diet I decided I would give it a go. I went out and bought all lactose and wheat free products after about a week or so I realised that I wasn't aware of my heart thumping anymore and felt a lot betterl.

Low FODMAP diet
Hi guys, I am a newly diagnosed IBS patient and the doctor advised me to follow a low
FODMAP
diet. Is there a cook book that people recommend?

FODMAP:elimination phase,2 weeks?or 6 weeks? Not feeling any better after 2 weeks on the diet, could it mean I might need a few more weeks?
Hi everybody, I have been doing the
FODMAP
diet following the Patsy Katsos' book (which I think is the best by far) and the Sue Shepherd one...Patsy Katsos says you have to be under the elimination phase for 2 weeks, while Sue Shepherd says it should be 6-8 weeks before you start reintroducing again.

Is sweet potato low fodmap?
My dietician did say that there is a difference in the vegetables that are low
fodmap
in Australia and the UK due to their different growing conditions and I was wondering if anyone knew if this was the case with sweet potato?

Does anyone have problems reading ingredient lists to see if High Sucrose Corn Syrup is present in a product?
Have been trying to re-introduce possible offending ingredients after weeks on the Elimination phase of The
FODMAP

Alcohol Setback
Much improved over the last month on a lowered fibre and
Fodmap
diet. Complacent and in hope I supped a couple of cans of lager on friday and have suffered badly for the last two nights. I hadn't drunk a drop since Xmas for fear of triggering a flare up so back on the wagon.

low FODMAP and gluten free diet problems....
I was just put on a low
FODMAP
and gluten free diet by my gastro doc while I am being tested for everything under the sun and I have been on it for a couple of days now. Only thing is, I have had the VERY WORST headache and gas EVER!!! Is this something that is normal?

Can antibiotic for dental infection improve IBS symptoms?
I was wary of the sorbitol as I know it is a
FODMAP
and I have found it made the bloating worse in the past, however in conjunction with the antibiotic everything seemed quite a bit better.

Fermentable Potential Foods
He lists foods to avoid which are highly fermentable, FP = Fermentable Potential, including starches and suggests that his theory goes further than the
Fodmap
theory. Unfortunately the bit I could browse online did not include the list.

Wholemeal Bread.
For years I have baked my own wholemeal brown bread and along with porridge every morning and fibre from vegetables thought I was eating a suitable diet. 5 months ago following an IBS flare up I switched to 100% spelt flour and followed the
FODMAP
diet.

IBS symptoms worse since stopping anti-depressants
I have IBS A and I am strict with what I eat and stick to a low
FODMAP
diet. My diet hasn't changed, but I am finding i'm in pain at various points on a daily basis and I'm switching between C and D within a 24hr period. I'm also finding that generally I am feeling pain more.

FODMAP DIET
Having suffered IBS for several years with mixed settled periods and flare ups, the Low
Fodmap
Diet by Shepherd and Gibson makes total logical sense to me. Finding a specialist in NE England with
Fodmap
diet expertise is proving difficult.
