Coming off Ramipril
Since taking Ramipril a week ago I've developed horrible side effects in the form of intermittent chest pains. My GP said it's most likely 'anxiety' that's causing it, but I've never experienced chest pains like this until I began taking Ramipril. Just reading through reviews on Ask A Patient, it seems

Calcium Channel Blocker's and Nocturia.
Has anybody noticed an increase in Nocturia since taking CCB's? I am taking Amlodipine in the evening and noticed an increase in Nocturia. Every morning at about 03:30 I am awakened by a familiar and unwelcome urge....ok, it's very common in over 70's, but it's fairly new to me. Problem is I rarely get

Ramipril and Nattokinase together
I've been taking a low dose capsule of ramipril for about a week. I've also ordered some Nattokinase for my blood pressure as I'd rather go down the natural route if at all possible. Does anyone know if it's safe to take both at the same time? I'm scouring the Internet for answers and I can't find

Mild atherosclerosis and Amlodipine
Hi everyone, newby here. I had been getting a discomfort in my chest after climbing a lot of stairs. I know it may sound strange, but it felt like I had swallowed an ice cube and had to wait for it to go down to stop the discomfort. I was initially told by my GP that everything was fine, but I persisted

Open heart surgery medication and viagra
I had an AVR and double bypass on 26/02/2020 and, after an initial lung problem, am recovering well. Having consulted with my surgeon, GP and cardiac nurse, I am under the impression that viagra should not react adversely with the drugs I am on, but was advised to leave it for the first few months as

Ramipril side effects
Hello I took my first dose of Ramipril 1.25 mg last night before bed. Part way through the night, when I turned on my side (in either direction) it felt like something was wrong - that I might faint or something. I could feel my heart beating, so I laid on my back again. I later fell asleep as normal

Ramipril and propranolol
This is a journey I wish I wasn't on. Anyway.. I began with panic attacks two months' ago. It was revealed at the time that I have high blood pressure. Tried Lercanidipine and experienced horrible side effects. After visits to A&E for panic attacks I'm starting with Ramipril and Propranolol. Does

Change of medication
I had a severe hypertensive episode in May & was admitted to hospital. I was discharged 2 days later with ramapril and amlodipine. I have had a horrid tickly cough since I was on the ramapril & GP has now prescribed losartan but my BP is creeping up a bit although I’m only on day 3 of the losartan.

Meds don’t suit me
Hello I am female aged 62. Took Bendroflumethiazide for a few years for slightly high bp which settled at between 142/78 and 158/85. To try to stop the consequential and irritating need to go to the loo frequently the doc changed me onto Ramipril 10mg. Over the next weeks my Bp crept up and has stayed

Atrial fibrillation /flutter: non-medical non-dietary solutions?
Dear BHF community, I had a 5 graft bypass operation last September, a week after a heart attack. Whilst in hospital I developed atrial fibrillation/ flutter. Since 'getting back to normal' with the aid of various prescribed drugs, heart rehab gym etc my GP recently advised to come off Ramipril and Bisoporol
