Ramipril and Nattokinase together

I've been taking a low dose capsule of ramipril for about a week. I've also ordered some Nattokinase for my blood pressure as I'd rather go down the natural route if at all possible.

Does anyone know if it's safe to take both at the same time? I'm scouring the Internet for answers and I can't find anything. Thank you.

Hi Ella. I wouldn't take them together or even at different times of the day unless I had the OK from a GP or a pharmacist. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with Nattokinase but it may not be wise to take it with Ramipril. If you can't ask your GP, give your pharmacist a call and ask him/her just to be on the safe side. Good luck. x

Hi EllaUK I was on Ramapril for 7 years and side effects were minor and I lived happily on it. Unfortunately after 7 years I developed angio-edema with my whole lower face swollen and I honestly looked like a duck with a beak. When I went on Ramapril my blood pressure was borderline for 120/80 using a 24 hour BP test. I came off Ramapril and my BP shot up really high, too high. I went onto Candesartan . My life was miserable with a list of severe side effects the worst one was peeing night and day I was so tired and my sodium level was too low. I changed to Amlodipine and my lower legs were burning and swollen I couldn't walk and having had Type 1 diabetes for 49 years, was worried about ulcers. I came off all prescribed medication and went onto Nattokinase and my BP in now high 120's up to 135 over 70's up to 82 systolic and no side effects. I think the danger of taking Nattokinase with Ramapril is your BP may go too low after a number of days to weeks. We must all make our own choices but for me the natural route is right for me.

Thank you so much for your reply!

What a horrible journey you've been on. I'm glad you found a solution at least.

I've also purchased some Nattokinase. I've come off Ramipril because of the terrible side effects.

I hope Nattokinase works as well for me as it has for you.

Thanks again for your reply.

Can i ask if this worked for you? I'm hoping to avoid blood pressure medication if at all possible.

What dosage were you on ramipril and what dosage did you go on Natto?

Nattokinase is a blood thinner but nowhere as strong as a baby aspirin, so half a baby aspirin a day will protect better i would have thought,
