Need a Opinion
I am suffering from Diabetic condition for last eight years. I was reasonably controlling the situation with Metformin 1000 mg 1 tab and Diamicron MR 60 mg 2 tabs / day until last year. Currently my HBA1C is not within the required range, it is increasing from around 7 to around 8.4 ( last year) Otherwise

Digital ulcers....sssss
I'm glad to see that research advocates taking a proactive, preventive approach to treating digital ulcers. Also, I note that calcium channel blockers and ACE inhibitors are not the best way to deal with the problem. I have found Sildenaflil a great help. See here - http://sclerodermauk.org/uncategorised

Blood tests
My friend has similar symptoms to me so I advised her to ask for a B12 check and intrinsic factor test, she had some bloods taken a couple of weeks ago and when she asked for the test today the doctor told her there was no need to test as it would show up in her other bloods as they wouldn't be right

Intrinsic Factor
I have found some vitamin B complex capsules(with metafolin) which contain Porcine Intrinsic Factor. Has anyone seen any sceintific evidence that this porcine I.F. could really help P.A. patients who have antibodies that destroy their intrinsic factor which is necessary for absorption of Vitamin B12?

FED UP with no Real outcome in sight
I've had so many blood tests searching for an answer to why I'm so tired depressed and 'achey' all the time. Although I think my GP is just humouring me with the tests. My original B12 level was 91. But 6 months later it is now approx 500. That was taken 2 weeks after my 3 monthly injection. Also the

Active B12? MMA?, Homocysteine?, Intrinsic Factor Antibody Test?, Serum B12 Test
I notice that a number of you are searching for information about the above tests. Well, none of them are particularly good - yet. The Active B12 Test (Holotranscobalamin or HoloTC) shows some promise as a front line test to establish the B12 Status of patients but it still needs further development

Active B12 in liquid form
I have just been advised by a dietician friend that Biocare have developed an active B12 in liquid form which means that you would not need an intrinsic factor to absorb. I telephoned Biocare on 0121 433 3727 and had a great chat with a product advisor who agreed it is beneficial for Pernicious Anaemia

Please help, test results!
I hope the results below are clear enough for you to help with. Any thoughts are always greatly appreciated as they are easier for me to digest than the usual being talked at, rather than to, by the GP. Currently taking levothyroxine 125mg for 3 consecutive days and 150mg on 4th day. Intrigued by

Burning feet.
Having a bit of a flare (swollen painful hands, low deep shoulder pain ) and slowly the symptoms I hoped had gone are creeping back, hip pain and one of my most hated, burning feet. Possible RA?
Hi All, this is my first post and I'm new to all this. Posting at this time because I can't sleep because my shoulder hurts too much. A few months ago I started with pain in my little toe and the one next to it on both feet at the same time when I walked. Over the space of a month it gradually moved
