Clarification of blood results
Hi Could anyone give me some clarity on my anaemia test results received today. Test was done by Monitor My Health but no reference ranges included so all components just say "normal" which is very uninformative and irritating. I know from this forum results need to be optimal. Results: Haemoglobin 128g

Ectopic beats and sinus tachycardia
Hi all! I wondered if anyone has ever experienced what I have, for years I have had ectopic beats with no other symptoms. 6 weeks ago I went to bed with ectopics, didn’t take much notice as it happens most days, suddenly I woke in the middle of the night feeling out of breathe and very weak a feeling

Iron low
Hello, I just got back my blood work test and the iron read a little low, so I was wondering if anyone else here on the panel with pernicious anemia has had low iron. My iron binding is within range. Iron level is in range but iron percent transferring saturation is reading slightly low

Uncertain PMR or EORA?
Good morning, My first visit to see the Rheumatologist referred by GP and taking Naproxen for three months. Hip pain much better but not doing much walking, shoulders heavy with impaired mobility and last four weeks hands stiff and tight feeling. ESR was 50 in March, 76 in April. CRP was 22 March

blood test back - any thoughts?
So now I am off all my meds, and started taking 200mg iron a night a month ago, my ferritin level just came back as 80, which I was quite surprised. The last one in 2020 was over 120. Should I double the dose and split it through the day or take 2 tabs before bed? Also my white blood count came back

Breathlessness
hi everyone, I wonder if I could have some advice! I’m having what I assume is a lupus flare (although my pain isn’t as bad as it sometimes gets), my main issue is over the last week I’ve become increasingly breathless. My blood pressure, pulse rate and blood oxygen is all normal. I have no temperature

Iron Deficiency Without Anemia (IDWA)
In my "I'm Alive!" post yesterday I discussed my crashing with effectively no iron in my system with a condition called Iron Deficiency Without Anemia (IDWA). As promised here is a more detail discussion of that condition that anyone with autoimmune PA/AIG should keep their eye on. Knowing that iron

interesting find
has anyone tried grass fed beef liver supplements. I’m wondering if these freeze dried capsules would be beneficial because of the vitamins and minerals in them as I don't seem to be able to keep my levels of anything up without supplementing. As soon as I stop they seem to drop again quite quickly ,

Sourcing advice please
Hi I went to my GP in April with this problem. My GP practice give you forms for self booking for Rheumatology at choice of 2 hospitals. Both have no appointments available. I rang and was told 18 to 34 week wait but even then you have to go on a waiting list to get the appointment before that. I booked

Can GPs only test thyroid once a year?
I've had a really irritated (not sore) windpipe and what I term low battery (no power in my muscles) for the past week and finally plucked up courage to battle GP system and report my issue. I've become 'aware' of my front throat area (thyroid) and can now feel it ifkwim. I've got a terrible irritated

Does anyone use ‘Active Iron’ in UK?
I searched for ferrous bisglycinate on Amazon UK which came up with Active Iron 25mg. I’ve now received it and found it contains ferrous sulfate 25mg! Now I don’t know if this is the right product or dose. Can anyone help?

Iron supplements dosage
Is 20mg of gentle iron each night enough? It worked well the first night. What a wonderful relief it was. The second night it did work within 70 mins but returned within 3 hours.. I wonder why it didn't last as long? Would a slow release be better, like ferrous sulphate 325mg? Or will it need to be

I’m struggling so badly with my mental health which in turn affects my physical health. I’m in such a vicious circle and don’t know how to deal with it. I’ve posted so many time and I’m sure I’m getting on everybody’s nerves because I’m getting on my own nerves. Another trip to A&E on Saturday night

Hi, just a question for Members who have had PMR twice. Where your symptoms exactly the same the second time. I am feeling very poorly at the moment and am banging my head up against the wall with my Doctor. I feel as if it is PMR again. My ESR is 32. The only difference this time is that my fingers
