Hip replacement.
I have surgery booked for my right hip booked for 1st March. I'm having a dual mobility prosthesis as I have had lumbar surgery and I also have scoliosis and so am at greater risk of dislocation. Has anyone else had this, and did you have spinal or general anaesthetic when you have spinal problems.

Revised Plot of PSA vs Testosterone: Estrogen vs Lupron ADT
Ugh...I made a BIG mistake on the previous posting! I just realized that Dr. Morgentaler had listed the Testosterone level in unusual units (
ng/mL
), not the usual units of (
ng/dL)
. So, my X-axis was off by a factor of 10. Here is the revised plot. The exciting discovery is that the

Knee relacement
Hi, I have osteoarthritis in my left knee and am now scheduled for a half knee replacement in a couple of weeks time. I was wondering if anyone has had one recently? I am wondering how long it will take to recover and any other useful insights people might have?

HRT and waiting for scans
Earlier this year in March, I saw my GP to ask about HRT, so blood works were done and anomalies found so went for an ultrasound and found to have Fatty liver and hepatic hemangioma. I'm now waiting for a fibroscsn in December and I'm worried and scared. To help myself I've stopped alcohol completely

Hello All, It’s been a long time since I’ve been on here, I finally got into sheltered housing last April & got a lovely little bungalow I’m over the moon with. It was in very good content with decent carpets curtains, and blinds left & got a decorating/other grant from the council that I wasn’t expecting

Gynecomastia from ADT - how much?
Gynecomastia from ADT - how much? I am considering asking my oncologist for transdermal estrogn (TDE) therapy instead of Orgovyx to combat my prostate cancer. Since gynecomastia and breast pain are pretty much the only bad side effects from TDE and less troubling to me than metabolic disturbance,

Oestradial HRT & the thyroid, Lenzetto blood tests
I just wondered if low oestradial affects the thyroid? I have been on HRT since March and my level is still only 197 pmol/L. I use 3 sprays of Lenzetto. I wondered if it could be affecting my thyroid function? I don’t have menopause symptoms, I had bottom of range testosterone, but this is now in range

My employer finally terminated my contract last month because of the nature of my job and the deteriorating condition of my knee. I have tricompartmental osteoarthritis in my knee which has now got to the point where every step I take is sore, my job was contracting to a large company working on kitchen

Early Results from Transdermal Estrogen PATCH trial - 2
Here's some charts comparing Lupron ADT to transdermal estrogen (TDE) therapy for High Risk and Very High Risk men with prostate cancer. The upper chart shows the percentage of men that have been castrated to a testosterone level < 50 ng/dL after 1 month of treatment. For Lupron, only 65% of HR/VHR

Estrogen ADT vs Lupron ADT
Here's a chart showing % of men who have a given condition, comparing Estrogen ADT versus Lupron ADT. There's big reduction in hot flashes, and improvements in libido, when taking supplemental Estrogen. Estrogen increases gynecomastia (enlarged breasts), however. Bob
