I was wondering if people could tell me how long it takes for HRT( the estrogen patch)to kick in and take away your hot flashes? I've only been on it 13 days and can't get any relief from the hot flashes and I'm really worried. Is this normal for it to take this long?

Hi mine worked after about a fortnight. I had to come off it after 4 months as I was taking two squirts gel yet my oestrogen levels dropped. I'm now taking a herbal capsule Menopal and fingers crossed the flushes haven't returned - fingers crossed.

I was just hoping people could give me their personal experiences so I had something to go by as right now since I am not feeling any relief with the 0.075 mg estradiol patch I was wondering if maybe I might absorb the oral better since the gel and the spray are not covered by my insurance and no none of the brand name patches are covered by my insurance either.
I did but none of them answered my hot flash question
