Stuck. Help Plz.
Hi, thanks for all the info here. I’ve been reading for hours, think I’ve tried to absorb too much too quickly as my brain feels like it’s going to pop! I’ve been feeling nauseous with low pain headaches for a month so had a GP apt last week. Bloods were done and all appears normal apart from thyroid

Advice about recent NDT thyroid blood tests and high SHBG
Hi there! Is there any connection between high SHBG and taking NDT thyroid medication? I've been feeling better than ever on my Erfa thyroid medication and I don't feel over medicated at all, but I had high SHBG. My estradiol also seems high. I've read that one reason for high SHBG can be hyperthyroidism

Hi allI have been feeling ropey,v lethargic and a bit slow for a few months now, despite increase in Levothyroxine. I had attributed this to constant blood loss(months) following HRT which didn't suit me,however this stopped 2 months ago. Previous blood tests showed haemoglobin on the low side so have

CKD & menopause
Thanks to mackes I became aware that there might be a relation between menopause and CKD. I did a simple search in the Medline database - and sure enough! Early onset menopause and CKD - plus CKD might induce menopause due to reduced sex hormones. Which way the arrow points is unclear (does CKD

Mechanical valve
Thanks for your replies! You are correct, I think I got my terminology wrong, sorry. I will have a mechanical valve not a biological valve, thus the need for warfarin. I was also hoping to use the self testing kit for warfarin, as we spend much time in Africa, which could be rather tricky. Good to

Synthetic mytral valve
Hello, Soon I will have mytral valve replacement. I'm 56 female and lead a very active life. My concern is not so much getting back to fitness after surgery but more how much warfarin really affects day to day life. Also I was wondering, are there still no other alternatives to taking warfarin when

HRT and migraines
I'd be interested to know if there are women out there who can definitely say that taking HRT has helped them with migraines. I know that the research says that there is no evidence that it helps, if anything, probably makes it worse. Or were you prescribed some medication for menopause and it actually

oestrogen hormone prescribed beside levothyroxin - any side effects?
Hi, I am 67 years old. I was diagnosed 2 or 3 years ago with hypothyroidism and am presently taking 75 mg levothyroxin a day. Last July, my back imploded (protruding discs between the vertebrae and inflammation around the nerve and the whole lower back in spasm) and a month later I felt a small

Night sweats
I have noticed this week I have woken up with water on my back and chest. My hair is wet and my bedding is too. I am in my sixth week of recovery since having open heart surgery, valve replacement. Has anyone else experienced this, I have only noticed it this week.

Desperately need advice on fresh transfer happening Monday!
Good morning all, Yesterday I had my egg collection and I was told if more than 20 eggs were collected or if my bloods (done 2 days prior to my collection) showed high progesterone (4.5 or more), then all my embryos would be frozen (no option of a fresh transfer). This was explained to me as high levels

Private Blood Test Results
Hello, Diagnosed with Hashimoto’s 2019, it was a long and sickly road to diagnosis and treatment. Levothyroxine only didn’t work for me and after a couple of not so great endo appointments I finally found a really good endocrinologist who agreed to add in liothyronine and commenced me on 20mcg

only one follicle final scan
hi all, just had what was meant to be my final scan before egg collection Friday - there is only one follicle at 21mms I think. They’ve done a blood test to check my oestrogen levels to see if it looks likely if there is an egg in there and will let me know this afternoon if egg collection will go ahead
