Is there a protective role of testosterone against high-grade prostate cancer?
New paper below. "This study investigated the role of testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) in prostate safety and cancer progression. A cohort of 553 patients, 42 treated and 162 untreated hypogonadal men, and 349 eugonadal men were included." "The incidence of positive prostate biopsies was lowest

Latest results. High cholesterol at 25 and possible PCOS? Help please :)
Hi I've had some results recently and was just hoping for some advice on a few things that are concerning me. After the first 2 test results my gp said once my b12, folate and vit d had been treated we could trial levo if still symptomatic. In all honesty I don't really feel much different. However

Hi does anyone mind having a quick look over my latest results please? Particularly anyone with knowledge of PCOS which they've flagged up as a possibility due to a raised hormone. However they've assumed I have a 28 day cycle which I never have. It's normally around 34 days I think but it's been really

How my RESTLESS LEGS were CURED!
Are you taking any form of estrogen? I ran out of my Estradiol 1mg. From Barr Labs & while waiting to see an M.D. for a new lower-dose Rx & I found, to my great surprise, that by 2-3 weeks OFF of this Privider's brand if Estradiol, that my restless legs disappeared. I called my pharmacist & found that

Foods/Supplements-Vitamins: Chrysin
Prompted by a new study [4]. Chrysin is a natural polyphenol - a flavone. It is an aromatase inhbitor & can therefore reduce the conversion of testosterone to estradiol. Although Wikipedia [1] cites studies that found it to be ineffective, I can vouch for it, when taken with Bioperine (piperine).

Prostate Cancer & Hormones - Cortisol
Cortisol is known as the stress hormone. Wiki: "It is released in response to stress and low blood-glucose concentration. It functions to increase blood sugar through gluconeogenesis, to suppress the immune system ... It also decreases bone formation." [1] "Diurnal cycles of cortisol levels are found

Prostate Cancer & Hormones - Prolactin
Evolution has given hormones promiscuous roles in the body. A particular hormone may be involved in a number of unrelated functions. Prolactin, as one might guess, is a hormone mostly associated with milk production, but it has various roles in the male body too. In addition, the prostate has prolactin

Prostate Cancer & Hormones
I am about to begin a new series of posts, on hormones. One might expect the first to be on testosterone - or even estradiol - but I will begin with prolactin, since there is a new study. Look for: "Prostate Cancer & Hormones - Prolactin". Suggestions as to other hormones to cover would be welcomed

Cerazette and Estradiol
Hi, new year. 44 year old, diagnosed with endometriosis at 22. i am under an endocrine for my low vitD, Hashimotos and hyperparathyroidism. He has put me on 2mg of Estradiol as my estrogen levels are extremely low. This is most likely because i've been taking cerazette for years to suppress my periods

Labs-ready for comments and your wisdom
Hello all-53 yd old female dx with hypothyroid 8/16. Been reading posts and waiting for a series of labs so I could post and ask for guidance. Role of free testosterone levels in mCRPC.
New German study below. "Despite the fact that free testosterone (FT) is the biologically active form, it is common practice that androgen suppression is monitored via total testosterone levels only." Yes, crazy! Dr. Myers goes further. Who cares what T is, when DHT is driving proliferation. Anyway

Donor egg 6dp 5dt worried :(
Hi everyone, A week ago we returned from Poland where we had our frozen embryo transfer (donor egg IVF). We had two good quality blastocysts put in, the lining of my uterus was in great shape- and after all the heart break and disappointments we've had, it was so lovely to feel positive about our treatment

My latest results - do I need T3?
I apologize in advance for lengthy post but don’t want to miss anything important. I have Hashimoto and been on levothyroxine for last 4 years. Recently I increased my levothyroxine dose from 125mcg to 150mcg. Although increasing it was a nightmare, I have made it and am on 150mcg for last 3 months.

Male Hormone Results
I already posted today regarding my thyroid results and I'm very happy with the fact my Levo appears to be working. I also asked for some Male Hormones to be tested as I've historically had problems with ED and make next to no progress in the gym: Oestradiol 128 <192 pmol/L Testosterone 18.8 7.6 - 31.4
