Port Insertion Trauma - Am I the only one?
Sorry about the hideous photo. Yesterday I had the “Smart Port” inserted after my beloved PICC Line gave me a blood clot along with a huge allergy to all the dressings used to secure it. From reading other ladies experiences with their ports, I had only the slightest trepidation about the procedure.

Hi all. I’m a 60 year old wife/mom/grandma with Cirrhosis secondary to NASH. I was diagnosed a year ago when they found a clot in my hepatic vein. Now I have lovely esophageal varices, ascites, and portal hypertension. A few months before diagnosis, I also started having trouble with my memory and had

Nervous but eager for tests next week
Hi all. I saw a gastroenterologist a while back and he wants to do endoscopy/colonoscopy which I'm scheduled to have next week. He said he's initially thinking of coeliac so I'm guessing endoscopy/biopsy would prove if he's right? When I thought about it afterwards I did find it a bit strange that he

Reflux and sore throat
Regarding Gerd's Reflux and sore throat and all the medications which have not helped him, I had similar problems some years ago and after a hospital endoscopy it was found that I had an Underactive Thyroid. Since going onto Levothyroxine I have had no problem with reflux. Worth mentioning to his G.P

Why Am I Throwing Up After Eating Food?
Hello all! For the past month or so I have basically been throwing up 1 to 2 thirds of food and all liquid that I eat from 5 to 15 minutes after swallowing, and I have no idea why. I have been diagnosed with GERD, however, I can tell that this is something different. When I throw up it isn't acidic whatsoever

It was last Saturday when I got the letter saying abnormal, I went to walk in centre at

Any advice greatly appreciated.
Hi all and hope you are all as well as you can be. Winter can be a pretty tough time for a lot of you I know. It's been a while since I have posted here as I've had my struggles and also those of my daughter who, some of you know was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis recently. She has now been told

Anyone in a similar situation?
Hi, I apologise if this post is too long. Basically my history goes back to 2006, when I suffered bouts of diarrhoea with nothing to prevail and just kind of got on with it after visiting my G.P about it. I started a new job working with children and it wasn't until this period my symptoms were accompanied

Hepatic nurse appointment
Hi I saw the hepatic nurse yesterday after waiting a year. She said it should be every 6 months but the demand is way too many, so they’re giving priority to more serious patients. My liver although cirrotic Is working well because my diabetes is under control. She put my mind at Reston many questions

Ultrasound endoscopy
I had and ultrasound endoscopy today to examine my pancreatic cyst. The Drs didn’t feel that a biopsy was necessary so I’m wondering and hoping that all is well. (Fingers crossed). All thoughts welcome.
