Hepatic nurse appointment

Hi I saw the hepatic nurse yesterday after waiting a year. She said it should be every 6 months but the demand is way too many, so they’re giving priority to more serious patients.

My liver although cirrotic Is working well because my diabetes is under control. She put my mind at Reston many questions I had. Had my bloods for possible cancer markers and am waiting for fibroscan again because the success rate last scan was only 75%. So ultra sound scan to come, no endoscopy repeat for another two years cause last one was good. She said if the spleen gets larger and hypertensive portal happens then there is more risk of varicies and it’s ok. Referral to dietician because of many intolerance.

Feel much better knowing I’m not causing my liver anymore damage. Need to keep to no drinking, eating less fat, staying fit and losing weight. Happy bunny.
