Do you have the same symptoms as I do?
My issue started in 2013 as extreme gas and bloating, noticed I get diarrhea if I take dairy or antibiotics or sometimes it cures my gas, then in 2015 I started getting extreme fatigue, irritable and unable to concentrate and weird food reactions as listed below. Main Symptoms: • Gas: So much gas

Another gastroscopy
I got a letter today with an appointment for yet another gastroscopy this Saturday morning. This will be my third since july last year. That's on top of 2 CT'S with contrast, an MRI, a capsule endoscopy, a colonoscopy and a liver biopsy. I'm sick of constantly being at the hospital. I've got two appointments

Advice Please Fatty Liver & Depokote
I was admitted to hospital with severe upper abdominal pain and was diagnosed with Fatty Liver. I have just read an article on British Medical Journal that Depokote can cause a Fatty Liver. The Consultant in the Hospital didn’t mention this to me and although my diet is good and I don’t drink I am now

Severe chest pain and in neck
I'm new to this forum and I so desperate for help. I had a car accident in October and suffered bad whiplash I've been back and fourth to my gp because I wasn't able to eat due to the pain it left me in my chest and neck. I've had a endoscopy and all was normal. I was put on lansoprozale but after 3

Biopsy help - endoscopy & colonoscopy
Morning. Had endoscopy + colonoscopy Wednesday. I was told bowel looked normal but they went on to take a total of 20 biopsies! 8 from endoscopy 12 from bowel. Is this excessive? I was under the influence it would be a couple of biopsies not that many! Also – bit worried it’s going to come back as ibs

IBS Support
Hi all, apologies if this comes across a bit rambly but feeling a little stressed out by some bowel troubles. I’m in my mid-twenties and was ‘diagnosed’ with IBS roughly 7 years ago - generally speaking I haven’t had much issue with it, even with a particularly bad student diet during my uni years. However

Well well well!!
Had my follow up endoscopy on Tuesday. A very traumatic experience. It only took 5/10 minutes on previous ones but this took half an hour while 12 biopsies were taken from my Barrett’s oesophagus. During this endoscopy a hiatus hernia was noted. Probably the cause of my acid reflux and subsequent problems

Advancing Tech, or risky changes?
I am 4.5 years post op, Ivor Lewis. Laprascopis through the abdomen, then cracked open the ribcage, collapsed the right lung, removed the offending and stitched me up again. I recently met a senior surgeon in Taiwan and he was surprised to hear that they conducted this procedure so recently. He told

For The First Time In My Life I Am Feeling Totally Broken!
On 19th December I tripped over a pot hole whilst walking the dogs. I knew it was bad since I heard and felt my shoulder snap! I was admitted to hospital via ambulance, but all the while hoping it wasn't bad since I do have a low pain threshold. No such luck, severely shattered ball of humerus(?) In

A warning about use of Lansoprazole (and possibly other PPIs)
Ballybiscuit posted a reply on another thread which we feel needs to be made more prominent: "I have taken them for 5 years. I have recently had a CT scan for a cyst on my kidney. I got a phone call 2 days ago from a person who had looked at the scan. He said he was calling me as he didn't want me to

Any Advice/ Experience with a Colonoscopy?
My GP has put me on the 2 week fast track for a colonoscopy, so I had to Uber myself to the hospital for a blood test to check on my kidney function because of the dye they use. I’ve had two endoscopies. Now the lower end of my innards has played up far to much they are being investigated. I know the

Question following serious medical condition
Hi, This is my first time here, I'm happy to have discovered 'BHF' who are almost certainly best to answer my query: I was diagnosed with 'Extra Hepatic Portal Hypertension' as an infant (59 years ago), I suffered with regular haematemesis all through my childhood, until having previously had a partial

Day 7 of Citalopram
I'm on day 7 of Citalopram. Most of the side affects haven't been too bad, but since I started taking it, my Acid Reflux has gotten worse. It's waking me up in the middle of the night and causing panic attacks. I had an endoscopy a couple weeks ago and the results came back normal. The doctor says

An anxious drive / Inflammation
Last week I saw my GP who ordered a chest X-ray and some blood tests. She called today and asked if I was free to speak. I said I was driving but on Bluetooth so was fine to speak. She said she wanted to speak to me about my X-ray results but didn’t want to interfere with my driving and could I call

Left sided pain and blockage feeling
TL;DR – Have painful left sided tummy cramps, feeling of stool blockage at the same site. Very soft stools, all tests and scopes return normal. Tried IBS supplements, diet change, painkillers, fibre supplements. This is something which has been bugging me for the better part of a couple of months now
