Hello I'm new here! A couple of questions about paroxysmal AF
Hi everyone. I was diagnosed with paroxysmal atrial fibrilation around 2009/10, and put on Aspirin and Bisoprolol indefinitely. I am now 43 years old. For years it's just came and went, maybe every few weeks. Recently the nature of it has changed. I discussed this with my GP and all they did was up

Coming off Ticagrelor after 12 months
Hi Folks, Can i simply come off 2x90mg Ticagrelor after 12 months as per the prescription and cardilogist visit 6 months ago or do I need to talk to my GP first? I also read that continuing on a lower dose of Ticagrelor 60mg for 2-3 years is now recommended by NICE... Is this true? Also, has anyone

Final Post Unless Things Change
My GP called last week, they got the letter from the hospital following the Coronary Angiogram. It’s a bit of a strange one as I feel I’ve been left in some kind of limbo land with no real diagnosis. I’ve been taken off Beta Blockers, Statins etc. But was told to keep taking the Isorobide Mononitrate

New to heart problems
Hello all, I have been a “watcher” for a while and thought that it was time to say hello and post my story. After a routine phone conversation with my Dr over a completely different matter, { testosterone levels } she noticed that I was out of breath. I explained that I had just done something and was

Newly diagnosed with variant/vasospastic angina (coronary artery spasm) and worried about the future
Hi. Im 46 and had a cardiac arrest at home on 25 Jan 2021 - was in hospital for over 3 weeks but thankfully, I have more or less fully recovered now. About 10 days after that event and after lots of tests, the consultants eventually diagnosed variant/vasospastic angina (coronary artery spasm), having

?frustrated! Triple negative mpl
It’s been a year of blood tests and I am done for now. My hematologist said I have a triple negative MPL and I am to take aspirin and get quarterly monitoring. That’s about all I could get out of the conversation. It was over the phone and she has an accent and voice tone that is difficult for me to

High heart rate at night
I have been suffering from night time PVC 's for around five years. I have had every test under the sun incuding angiogrammes and calcium scoring, only to conclude that there is just normal wear and tear on my heart. However recently things have been getting worse and my heart rate ( I wear a wrist

AstraZeneca Vaccine and Clot Risk - Any Advice?
Hi all, I had my first AstraZeneca jab in Feb and had mild flu symptoms. I have ET and am on aspirin. I am excited but also nervous as I have my second one on the 10th of this month. Has there been any additional advice to avoid clotting with our condition post vaccine? I completely agree that the risks

Can PD get better?
A DAT scan shows I have PD. I take Rytary but Dr Google suggests other meds might help. So I also take cinnamon, phosphatidyl serine, Super B-complex, Vitamin D, Green tea capsules, fish oil, a statin, CoQ10, baby aspirin, miralax, dulcolax, tylenol and melatonin. Some of these are for PD

Dry mouth
After my recent heart attack I was put on several medications including Ticagrelor,Bisoprolol,Losartan, Aspirin etc. I wake up every couple of hours with such a dry mouth and throat that I can hardly swallow, is this a side affect of the drugs and if so is there something that can relieve it?

Sensitive content- Miscarriage and tests . Unsure if miscarriage is complete?
We endured a 7 year struggle with 4 surgeries- 3 of which treated my endometriosis and we had our 22 month old daughter Francesca. I am forever grateful for her. She is my miracle. We've had 5 pregnancies- 1 live birth. I also have a grown up son from a previous relationship. 2 chemical pregnancies

Tests all coming back perfectly healthy...where to go from here? 🤔
We have male infertility issues but nothing worked in our first cycle so it was time to throw the kitchen sink at us in regards to testing for problems. So I have had a barrage of tests in the last month from PET scans to a laparoscopy and multiple biopsies. Everything is coming back as picture perfect

Diltiazem and other meds
Hi, consultant has changed my meds. Told me to come off the beta blockers and go into Diltiazem. I know these tablets have to be taken twice a day, 12 hours apart. I always take my Ranexa and levothyroxine first thing in the morning. I then take aspirin about 1.5 hours later. I have ferrous gluconate
