Ticagrelor and aspirin
Anybody have bad experiences with above after having stents
I just started using both two months ago, Myrtledene, I haven't had any problems with it at all. However, the ACE inhibitors I take have made me horribly unwell.
Thanks I feel nervous and stressed just thought could be tablets
It could be the tablets, but are you taking anything else? Aspirin doesn't usually cause problems in a low dose. What sort of problems are you experiencing? I'm two months on and still suffering weird pains after the stents along with a whole host of other symptoms that send my head reeling with fear. But I don't put mine down to the medications. I took Ramipril which gave me nightmares and a replacement that nearly sent me back to hospital I was so ill. Some drugs just don't agree with everyone.
I used both after my heart attack, but the doctors stopped Ticagrelor after a year. Bruising was the main side effect, really bad bruising (and bleeding). I stayed on aspirin until a few weeks ago when I had a fast AF and the A&E doctor put me on Rivaroxaban and stopped the aspirin. I'm only 2-weeks into that so it's hard to tell what is going on at the moment. I feel pretty grim compared to after my last AF of 3-years ago.
I am on both. I will only be on Ticagrelor for a year. Initially the Ticagrelor made me have unexpected breathless episodes lasting from a few seconds to 10 minutes which made me a bit anxious although I knew what the cause was. That’s settled down now. I also have nose bleeds every now and then. Plus bruising. All to be expected, annoying but not troublesome. I had chemo last year so this is so much more bearable.
I have to carry on with aspirin and several other meds. Just the Ticagrelor for a year. It’s usual to be on aspirin for life.
Well as I said I got breathless episodes for several months and even my GP wasn’t sure as thought it might be anxiety. But a cardiologist friend said it was Ticagrelor. I knew that but that was reassuring. And it’s settled down now and it happens once a week at most.
