Which scan or test?
I'm writing on behalf of a friend. They had a stent nearly 10 years ago. Very overweight, on blood pressure medication, statins, aspirin and spray under the tongue. Just lately they've been getting a lot of chest pain, using spray more and unable to walk far without getting breathless. Blood pressure

APS and migraines
Can anyone here tell me how the migraines associated with APS and or testing positive for antiphospholipid antibodies manifest themselves? Are they acute episodes, ongoing, headaches or migraines/cluster headaches? Have any women here had only headaches/migraines as a symptom of APS and not recurring

Managing ferritin levels with PV
I've been diagnosed with PV for just over 5 years now and my consultant has been managing my HCT levels with venesections and low dose aspirin during that time. My ferritin levels have only been checked about half a dozen times since I was diagnosed and currently sit at 5.8ug/L. Nobody has mentioned

A rather dramatic title, but In my case it was probably true ! Ok, so I now feel it is time to bring this out into the open. The Admin team know about this . Thank you to Oldfloss and MissUnderstanding for picking up the slack ! Only a handful of others have known about this And to the ones who knew

Start of first cycle
I am just about to start my first cycle. Anyone else at the same point in their journey? I had a mock cycle which went well with Progynova increasing my lining really well but it also showed up 3 polyps, which were large and needed removing as they could have affected the transfer. All removed now

Stopping Clopidogrel
I've been told to stop Clopidogrel after 12 months since getting a stent.Just 2 days after stopping, I'm getting severe pain like heart attack. I have unstable angina and glyceryl nitrate spray didn't help .took aspirin too as usual. I'm not sure if withdrawing Clopidogrel has caused this. Anyone experienced

When to take aspirin
I'm reading Life Time, a book about sleep and sleeping rhythms. Interesting stuff about the right time to take various medications including aspirin for cardiac suff. Basically Prof Foster suggests the best time to take aspirin is at bedtime. Now, I have stuck to the cycle for the meds I came out

BMB Results Not Clear - Is this Common?
In 2015, I was diagnosed with ET based on platelet levels and Jak2. Treatment has been daily aspirin. At the time (and over the years), my doctor (not an MPN specialist) did not think a BMB was essential. I switched doctors last year to an MPN specialist. Through discussions with him, coupled with

Recurrence of coronary artery spasm
Yet another trip to A&E. Fortunately spasm didn't result in increase in troponin levels so after monitoring me for entire day recommendation was to add isosorbide mononitrate to daily cocktail of drugs. I have three questions please: 1. Has anyone struggling with this condition found an ideal cocktail

Sudden rise of platelets with PV
A week ago, I posted that my platelets and WBC were suddenly rising while taking Hydroxy and aspirin. Today the platelet count was even higher, in just one week, and is now at 627. The doctor told me to increase the dose for now. Also my neutrophils are high, while leucocytes are low, but he is strangely

Understanding jump in platelet levels
Advice Please! After two years of PV being managed with venesections and aspirin, I moved into the high risk category by virtue of age and six weeks ago started on Hydroxy, 500mg Mon-Fri. Blood tests after two weeks showed a rather dramatic decrease in platelets 480 – 336, RBC no change at 6 and WBC

Any advice on getting Covid
I’ve just tested Positive for Covid this morning, my first time, ahhh….. hoping I don’t fall back into AF. I’ve read others here have gone into AF on getting Covid. I’m on low dose Metoprolol and low dose aspirin. Any precautions I should be doing to prevent AF coming back?. So far my symptoms are

What is wrong with me?
so, about six years ago my platelets started to be elevated. The doctors don’t seem too concerned. I was researching on my own a couple years ago and found out about ET. I started asking questions and advocating for myself. I asked to be tested for the Jak2 mutation and to be seen by a hematologist.
