ET /Hydroxycarbamide Low JAK2 levels
Morning everyone, Help! I was diagnosed with ET in 2013 and my platelet levels were stable and under 600 during this time and I just took asprin. When I reached 60, after much discussion, I began a low dose of Hydroxy to counteract the increased risk of clotting due to my age. JAK2 was confirmed at

sunshine and skin rash
Hi All, I have been to Cyprus on holiday and the weathers is extremely hot, I have been using sunscreen and take Hydroxy & Asprin daily but after 10 days I appear to have come out with a terrible itchy rash over my body 😏. I am just wondering if this has happened to anyone else or does anyone recommend

Warfarin and Alcohol
I'm 4 months post mechanical AVR surgery and looking for advice and experiences on enjoying a drink as we're going abroad in 2 weeks for an all inclusive holiday. I'm taking warfarin + aspirin and target INR is 1.5-2.0. I'm still having weekly INR checks as I've really struggled to get consistent in

Beta blockers and leg pain
Hi 👋I'm 34 years old, recently had surgery to fit a device to fix a hole in my heart. It was discovered due to arrhythmia. I am now taking bisoprolol 1.25mg twice a day and an aspirin 75mg. I am experiencing fatigue and leg pain. It can be quite bad. I don't know if it is because I'm back to work

Travel with ET - newly diagnosed
Hi all! Newly diagnosed with ET (MPL) in Nov/Dec 2022. Not exactly the way you want to spend Christmas holidays - having BMB (VAF 9%), diagnosed with a rare disease and a rare mutation to boot! However, the silver lining has been that given my age (42) and medical history, I'm considered very low risk

Lansoprazole, do I really need it?
Hi folks, Anyone take long term aspirin without taking lansoprozole or similar? Starting to have stomach issues and wondering if the culprit is lansoprozole and if I really need it. Interested to hear your views before I consult the GP.

Horrible taste from meds
Had aortic valve surgery and still on antibiotics (linezolid) as I had sepsis. Also on omeprazole, bisoprolol and and aspirin. I have a horrible metallic taste that is stopping me eating and drinking. Water and tea taste awful. Anyone else had this and did you find any drinks that didn't taste awful?

ET, Hydroxycarbamide and cataract surgery
I have to have cataract surgery, not so much because my cataracts are so bad but because I have primary angle closure glaucoma, so I don’t really have an option! I am concerned that it might take longer for my eyes (left one to be done first and right a few weeks after) to heal as I have ET. I have

Coming off Ticagrelor
Question - does anyone on the forum have experience of coming off Ticagrelor medication and experienced any complications from doing so? The background to my query is below: It's almost three years since my major heart attack, 12 July 2020 - I remember it well. I am currently on a fairly common combination

Alternative to Anticoagulation?
This is very new and exciting. Just a case history for now, but apparently they have done a Left Atrial Appendage (LAA)Closure during an RF catheter ablation procedure, guided by 3D printing technology! As many of you know, there now exist several devices like Watchman and Amulet that are inserted
