Still no treatment (UK)
Hi Everyone In my last post I thought my partner was about to start treatment, but after a 10 minute consultation at Kings he was told he seems to be managing without ( despite meeting the criteria for treatment) and the next appointment was put out 5 months. Since then his blood results have arrived

The journey to recovery (viral meningitis)
Hello and this is my story....I’m about 2 months post viral meningitis and this has been a slow journey to recovery. I had the same experience as most of you, several trips the the ER and my primary care provider and no relief or diagnosis. The only symptom I had that really stood out was the headache

Does anyone know what these marks are??? First one appeared I thought it was a burn even though it was on elbow. Leaves a scar behind
Any idea? First one appeared about 2 weeks ago. Convinced myself it was just a burn. Took ages to heal. No itching like a bite would and no pin mark in the centre. Almost boil like without the boil! The second photo I tried to take was of the scar it left behind. Not great I know 😏

Does anyone know of a good doctor here in the United States that is familiar with meningitis?
I live in the United States of America and so far the doctors i have been to are baffled and their idea of testing for meningitis is by touching your chin to your chest and asking if it hurts if it doesn't hurt than they automatically rule out the possibility of meningitis without actually doing a screening

Remission
I was diagnosed three years ago and the first flare up I had was intense. It started in my ankles and I thought I must have twisted it so I went to the doctor. They did an Xray, saw nothing and sent me home. It then spread to multiple joints and I went to numerous doctors who all sent me home with pain

Hypothyroid - problem with nails?
Hello lovely thyroid warriors. It's been a while since I posted but am having a problem with my nails and wondered if anyone had experienced similar. My latest test results are as below. These are after an increase in T4 from 125 to 150 per day at my request as I was struggling with tiredness and leg

Herbal supplements
Good afternoon, I have CKD 3. Creatine 1.24 GFR 57 I had the unfortunate occurrence to have a car accident several years ago and I am now needing chiropractor treatment. I’ve advised the Dr of my condition and the use of NSAIDS. He suggested a herbal supplement like Boswellia. Which is still a NSAID

Two years in and now Meloxicam for pain
I haven't visited this site for a while and my journey with PMR as a companion has been fairly unremarkable for the past two years. I moved to Kent where my GP has been very supportive and allowed me to stay at 7.5/8 mg for almost a year, but a recent flare has left me struggling and he has prescribed

Methotrexate not working & now chronic neck pain
Hi, I'm desperately in need of advice. I was diagnosed with RA a year ago after my left wrist swelled up. I'd had an accident just prior to the diagnosis. I was placed on Methotrexate immediately and given a steroid injection. A few weeks later the wrist pain came back, along with neck pain. Again, I

Follow that kidney diet
I found out last August for the first time that my kidneys were damaged from years of using ibuprofen for chronic pain from a car accident. My gfr was 40 to 45. My creatinine, protein, and potassium were all high. I was seriously upset. So, I found this online group, fed myself a strict kidney diet,

Top 4 Herbs to Reduce Inflammation Instead of NSAIDs -- Dr. Jockers. Long article, good information
"Taking NSAIDs (ibuprofen) is commonly suggested by healthcare professionals and regularly used by those who suffer from chronic inflammation and pain. The problem is that the long-term use of NSAID’s can result in stomach ulcers, kidney and liver toxicity, and leaky gut syndrome." "NSAIDs are responsible

PMR and Lyme disease ?
Hello, do you have any idea of a correlation between PMR and Lyme disease? Following tick bites, can it cause PMR ? Doctors do not give any answers and my GP said no reason known what causes PMR.

Possible Cellulitis
Hello, Question for everyone. I’m almost positive I have cellulitis in my inner thigh area where my leg meets my pelvic area (almost vaginal area). I noticed this morning it felt hot and tender to the touch but really didn’t think much else of it. I see my OB tomorrow (2 weeks post partum), so I went
