Exercise & PD
I have recently been walking regularly over the last month and my gait has improved massively. Diagnosed 14 years. I have also read numerous posts/tweets/blogs and research regarding the benefits of exercise and PD. Some people claim to have reversed the symptoms or at least plateaued and are quite well-known

Free of Dopamine Agonist But ...
Today, with the help of Buprenorphine, I am about 6 weeks free of Neupro. It is no exaggeration to say that I have not slept consistently this well for 30 years. It is absolutely a miracle. I could not be more thankful for the help I have received here that has gotten me to this place. However, there

Have any one heard or tried L-Tyrosine ?
My son bought L-Tyrosine for me, and said it helps PD by research, it can help you make dopamine . It is a kind of Amino Acid. My doctor said that you can try it, but, should not take it with levodopa the same time, should take it apart from levodopa. Has someone tried it ?

supplements to help DA withdrawal
I am wondering if anyone has used natural supplements like amino acids to increase dopamine while tapering off Pramaprexole? I have wondered if it would help with the decrease in dopamine while tapering. Also has anyone used Modafinil with any luck in helping energy and mood?

Dragging a millstone up a mountain. RLS blind spot, patient’s apparently don’t know best.
Hello friends, it’s a while since my last post but was waiting until I had some good news to share with you all but as the title of the post indicates the opposite. I have a wonderful Consultant Dr Jose Thomas who specialises in sleep disorders and RLS, the downside is he is based in Wales uk and I

I've been diagnosed with genetically bad cholesterol from my dad's side and have found that to be difficult in trying out ADHD medication and how it relates to what strategies I have to manage my ADHD symptoms. I was thinking next time I pursue getting medication again I could try the slower acting non

I've suffered with rls for over 30 years which has gradually got worse and worse. I'm now 74. After taking dopamine agonists for years, then tramadol, codeine and trying Kratom nothing was working and my doctor and neurologist would and could not prescribe anything else. In the past I had tried Pregabalin

The power of HIIT
Proof of concept Yale’s proof-of-concept study involved 10 patients who had been diagnosed for less than four years and hadn’t lost all their dopamine-producing neurons. They received MRI and PET scans to measure the amount of neuromelanin found in dopamine-producing neurons and the protein dopamine

Pramipexole withdrawals (Dopamine Agonist Withdrawal)
Hello I am fairly new here. I am wondering what besides restless legs can this drug cause while tapering? I cut 25% of my dose and my depression has increased immensely. Hardly able to function. I have horrible flu like symptoms like nausea and no appetite at all until late at night. I am very fatigued

How do I taper .50mg pram?
I am currently on 3 very sedating drugs . Klonopin, Mirtazapine and Pramipexole. I have been on Pram for about 1 yr and feel I am only experiencing the side effects from it. I was put on it for depression and mild rls. I don’t worry about my sleep as the other 2 drugs really knock me out when I take

DA withdrawal
I'm in the U.S. Last Oct, I attended the RLS Foundation's annual patient conference in Baltimore, Maryland. Speakers included many of the scientists mentioned in this forum - Berkowski, Earley, Buchfuhrer (also called Dr. B), and more. At that time, I was taking pramipexole ER. All the patients begged

I was diagnosed with PD ten years ago, bradykenesia, facial mask, no left arm swing and now both aren't in time, no tremor. Have anxiety/looping thoughts and general low mood. Have a physical job and have been able to carry on but this year festination developed, walking often turns into running short

Citicoline: "patients treated with citicoline experienced a significant worsening 45 days after the medication was discontinued". Updated.
This statement appears in a review that was published here: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC10548481/ It is attributed to a study published in a book on citicoline in 1985. I've been unable to locate a copy of this book either online, for sale or to borrow from a library. Book: Zappia
