I was thinking the same. It boils down to side effects and how badly you need it. The pump is a bit of chore to operate, but once you set it for the day you don't have to worry about. While I really like the base C/L that the pump provides, which is enough to prevent dystonia.

Is the pump heavy to carry? Also can you eat protein while carrying the pump? Thank you! Laura

it is not heavy, the size of a phone, just a bit ticker. There is some influence by protein but not as much since the delivery mechanism doesn't go through the gut.

Hi,

M’y friend has been using an apomorphine puma for a year. It does provide a stradine treatment throughout the day. Thierr are down sides to it. Nodules…

In France, we are expectant the foslevodopa carbidopa pump to be be available within 6 months. Hopefully, there will be less side effets. They mention may be much less nodules and therefore no need to change the catheters twice a day which is slightly painful.

Overall a very good d’avancement but which does not fight the progression of the Disease. That’s why I al turbine to light therapy and vibrating Glove therapy.

Good luck !

hi, actually I am struggling to decipher your last sentence, what does 'That’s why I al turbine to....' mean?

Supplementary question - are you already using light therapy and if yes, what is your experience so far?

As for the pump, I think who gets it may be mainly a cost issue as it is pretty expensive per day, I understand. Expecting it to be available in Belgium in the autumn.
