Zandopa
We have just ordered Zandopa for mucuna pruriens but were not sure of an initial dose? (Currently my husband is not on any drugs for PD. He takes mannitol and B1 but does not notice any effect...either positive or negative...from these. I think he needs some source of dopamine boost. He tried nutrivita

Stress and Parkinson's
In response to participants who asked for references in the thread dealing with stress and Parkinson's, here is the abstract of the first paper I was thinking about. I did not find the second one for now (Two women patients that were cured from PD through "relieving the cause of their stress"). A potential

HI guys, nice to find such a community and to know we are not alone :) So the title says it all. I'm in med school, I like what I'm doing and it's satisfying to accomplish things like learning textbooks. But... It's hard to explain, but I'll try: I can't concentrate, I mostly oscillate between times

Skiing - the best exercise (for me)
Finally we had a decent dump of snow in the Pyrenees, and Mrs WTP and I went skiing at Mijanes. Unbelievable - a Saturday, fresh deep perfect snow, sun, no wind, and no lift queues. I have to admit this was a bit of demon purging. I have skied on and off, since I was 20, but Mrs WTP had had a go 10

7 Years quit š
On Jan 19, 2019 I reached my 7 year anniversary of quitting smoking. One of the best things I ever did. I don't crave cigarettes, but I do crave the dopamine hit I used to get from smoking. Fortunately, I get my dopamine fix from a healthy source now: yoga. All the best to those starting the quit journey

Dopamine and ADHD
Iāve read in many places now that ADHD is generally considered a lack of dopamine and that sometimes our impulsive traits can be linked to our need to boost those dopamine levels. Iām curious to know what you think of this article [1]. Iāve noticed huge differences in my own focus, impulsiveness, irritability

A little chilli this evening
Mrs WTP bought me a cookbook for Christmas. The dopamine diet by Tom Kerridge. However due to work pressure in January I am excused cooking duties so Mrs WTP has tried a few. This chilli with green beans and cauliflower couscous is just stunning.

Madopar Advice
Need advice on those taking Madopar (or similar). My main symptoms rigidity in back and legs - with a continuous cramp in my feet. I take 125mg x 3 times per day. I really only feel "off" after I take the Madopar. About 20-40 mins after taking the tablet I get serious cramps in back/legs/feet for a period

Medication other than DA?!
Hi all - After being fed up of the horrible feeling I get during the day having taken my DA pramipexole, whereby I just feel tired and like I can't/don't want to do anything. I came off it. Which was pretty difficult. I've been off prami for just over a week (I was on 0.088mg). Currently I'm taking cocodamol

Can certain probiotics increase dopamine
This is intriguing because the one thing people with RLS and Parkinsonās disease is low dopamine. I wonder if taking these probiotics could help increase dopamine. āThis has sparked the idea that we might be able to improve the symptoms if we change the microbiome through diet or other ways ā¦ People

Has anyone been on naltrexone for alcohol cravings?
My psychiatrist prescribed naltrexone to curb my alcohol cravings. I just read that it block serotonin and dopamine.āā That seems like it wouldnāt be good for someone suffering depression. The page I was reading also said that one of the side effects of drinking while on naltrexone was depression. Does

Can augmentation be avoided on DA's?
I have been successfully rotating opiates for a couple of years. However, they are now causing insomnia and I feel that I need to stop taking them for a prolonged period to "reset" my brain. So I need an alternative. I can't take Gabapentin. I am aware from the horror stories on here of the dangers of

Wellbutrin - Looking to hear other's experiences & expert psychiatrist recommendations
Hi. I am new here and grateful that I found this group. I am in my 40s and started medication for ADHD for the first time 1 year ago. I am on 300mg of Wellbutrin xl. What started as an amazing help now seems to have gone too far - I am no longer on a constant quest for dopamine hits (a good thing)

2019: Will Medicare Cover Parkinson's ?
Here's where we stand as noted by Kirk Hall in his blog www.shakypawsgrampa.com. (Of course who knows what will happen over the next two years with the idiot in the Whitehouse backed by gutless members of the POT). Parkinsonās disease (PD) is a challenging condition as it is, but the fact that it is
