Dopamine Dysregulation Syndrome
Definition here; https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dopamine_dysregulation_syndrome How can docs be sure? A lot of the alleged "symptoms" would be entirely understandable from someone denied a medication that helps...and I don't get anything like euphoria from taking it...just a cessation of physical symptoms

Seeking thoughts on lab results (and my condition in general)
Hello all. I'll try to keep my history with this as short as possible. I'm 56, male, and have had RLS for probably half my life. I kept it at bay with Ambien for a big chunk of that time (dumb, I know) until that became untenable. In the past three or four years I've tried Gabapentin (didn't really

Folate
You know me, always looking for answers to try and help myself and get shot of all these horrible symptoms. I have been having a bit of a read up on folate as in what symptoms you might experience if it's too low. Tbh I am not quite sure how optimal in the range it should be but from looking back at

dopamine reuptake inhibitor
I am currently still taking mirapex (pramipexole) but am planning on weaning off soon from the overwhelming advice on this forum. Here is my question, pramipexole is a dopamine agonist and my doctor has prescribed wellbutrin which is a dopamine reuptake inhibitor. I haven't started taking the wellbutrin

Biotin and cold exposure are complete no brainers.
I haven’t posted in a while. I hope everyone is good. I limit myself because I believe for me, PD became an obsession. I forgot how to live. Many of you know I said b2 was a no brainer. Read my previous posts. Scientists in Japan found that PD patients have messed up guts that inhibit the absorption

Dont give up !
For everyone that has followed me there seems to be a happy ending. Following 21 yrs of various dopamine agonists for chronic Rls I realised that augmentation was off the scale. Consultant poo pooed that theory and upped my dose again to 6mgs. Yes it helped albeit for a short time. I went on holiday

LRRK2 gene and Adenosylcobalamin B12
For those of us with LRRK@2 genetic variants, it seems that a specific form of b12 (Adenosylcobalamin) helps to reduce the negative effects of the LRRK2 kinase protein: "The team first studied LRRK2 in cultured cells and brain tissue and found that AdoCbl inhibited LRRK2 in the low micromolar range.

Hrt advice
Good morning I started Trazodone in April and unfortunately this too affects my restless legs . I’ve taken dopamine pills for years for my symptoms and feel this has contributed to me feeling depressed. I’ve been clear of these awful pills for a long time and now take Gabapentin . I’m considering

Tryptophan vs L-tryptophan, which is best?
I have long had a sneaky suspicion that serotonin is more important for me than dopamine. So now I am moving my focus to boosting those levels. I am completely confused about the difference between straight tryptophan, and the "L" kind. Anyone able to enlighten me?

L tyrosine
Since I know I'm chronically low in dopamine and that L tyrosine benefits me in other ways, I decided to try trickle dosing. I got some L Tyrosine powder from Bulk Supplements. Since I measure my water anyway (I live in the desert and it's pretty easy to get dehydrated here, so my best bet is to make

GABA and cb/lp compatibility
Anyone had any experience taking GABA. I had read it's good to help with insomnia and a few other benefits. But I am worried about it affecting dopamine levels or blocking dopamine. I am looking to add to my stack of supplements.

Optimising LD timings
Hi all, I wanted to share the results of a ‘thought experiment’ I’ve been playing with and get feedback on some inevitable follow-on questions. [u]Just to be clear I'm not advocating anyone does what I describe below - I'm posting it for feedback / discussion purposes only (and for someone to show

gut microbiota and dopamine
A growing body of evidence showed that gut microbiota dysbiosis might be associated with the pathogenesis of Parkinson’s disease (PD). Microbiota-targeted interventions could play a protective role in PD by regulating the gut microbiota-gut-brain axis. Sodium butyrate (NaB) could improve gut microbiota

Your thoughts please?
Good morning one and all… It’s been a good long while since I’ve posted, so apologies for this mega volume of a message… I’ve been on Gabapentin for a good long while now… started off on 900mg now on 1200mg, but it’s no longer working effectively. Not keen to increase as I got bruising to my arms when

Too much dopamine the problem?
Found another study showing too much dopamine as the issue. Is there something to this?https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1111/jnc.15442

Trying to unmask
I got diagnosed with ADHD/ADD when I was 15, I'm now 33. I was definitely the loud over the top/out there child that got told often how annoying they were. As a teenager I started masking certain parts of myself, had behavioral problems and couldn't regulate my emotions. Definitely chased dopamine through

For Those Forum Members Taking B1 To Good Effect And Wondering What Other Health Benefit They May Be Getting From Their Use Of B1
Long before Dr. Costantini was using vitamin B1 in his patients with PD, vitamin B1 was already being used as a supplement to help maintain better health. Many on this forum who are using vitamin B1 to good effect, in terms of their PD symptoms, may be wondering what other health benefit B1 may hold
