BocowoA trial update - A Lull before a Storm
The periods during the trial where I was producing sufficient levels in natural
dopamine
to cope with the whole situation provide a real sense in potential promise.

In yesterday's Daily Mail: Wraparound magnet that may end the misery of restless leg syndrome which brings misery to millions of Britons
RLS is thought to be due to problems in the parts of the brain that control movement – in particular the neurotransmitter
dopamine
– but doctors do not know the precise cause.

Trying to kid myself?
I wish bupropion was available for depression over here, as it is in the States, as that works on the
dopamine
system. I might ask about that when my CMHT appointment comes - if it does!

Does enzyme Q10 work?
I read on the internet that enzyme Q10 can help with RLS because it helps to normalise
dopamine
levels in the brain. Has anyone tried it, & if so, did it work?

Does anyone else suffer sensory problems with their RLS?
I have tried a lot of other different drugs, including the
dopamine
patches etc. without any success. I am fearful that this condition might lead onto something more serious like Parkinson’s or Multiple Sclerosis and worry that my children may get this.

More on BocowoA
To surmise, I guess (as the Parkinson's symptoms returned) it spelt out; that there was now insufficient
Dopamine
available in reserve for such a need, especially as this area still remains painful at times.

Quitting smoking and weight gain
Nicotine and Appetite Nicotine can reduce your appetite by directly affecting the activity of serotonin and
dopamine
, which are substances that control neural transmission in areas of your brain, that turn your appetite on and off.

during subsequent repair and recovery process.

Sugar Addiction : Breaking the Cycle
There are many supplements that act as natural appetite suppressants and can reduce cravings or modulate
dopamine
receptor function to regulate appetite.

If it only takes 24 - 48 hours for nicotine to leave your body, why would I want to use NRT?
This causes the nerve cells to become more active and leads them to releasing a chemical messenger called '
dopamine
' at the other end of the nerve. This
dopamine
acts as a 'chemical reward' or 'teaching signal'.

Having researched the drug it would seem to suppress
dopamine
and serotonin which give us our pleasurable feelings, no wonder she is depressed. I know it's also to suppress any manic bouts but it seems to be like using a sledge hammer to bang a drawing pin in!

Where I am at the moment
I still won't take the
dopamine
drugs. I know my ssri has probably made things worse but I've been on them for a year almost and have no intention of giving them up. They have literally saved my life . And I feel any side effects should have stopped by now anyway.

Evidently any form of
dopamine
, including mucuna beans, causes an increase in uric acid in persons who are susceptible to gout. Has anyone experienced this problem?
