I am intrigued why you ask as I am on these and now worried!

Lots of people are on dopamine agonists, i am one of them aswell..

These lawsuits are people who have had gambling issues and other obsessive issues. The leaflet clearly states what the side effects are and that it can happen. So, you have to be aware of these side effects and it MIGHT happen to you. If you think you have any of the side effects which is causing you to start gambling, drinking, compulsive shopping then you need to get off that med.

The NHS is not the people who should be taken to court. These lawsuits are against the drug companies.

Having said that, i dont think this forum is the place to ask for a lawyers details. My personal opinion.

My Question was prompted by this.

In 1979 I was diagnosed with Acromegaly and had treatment to remove the pituitry tumour. I was also put on a dopamine agonist called bromocriptine. Shortly after I became a compulsive gambler and have been since that date, not quite so really as I discovered this side effect six months ago.

I immediately went off the bromocriptine and have been gamble free since then. 30 years this drug ruined my life I would kinda like some reparation if it is proved in court this potential drawback for some, NOT All but a few users.

Fot those that think this is not the forum to ask for such information my response is this. My illness is suffered by relatively few so I was hoping that those with other ailments using dopamine agonist may have come up against a similar problem ie parkinsons etc. Should I have upset anyones morals or otherwise, please accept my apoligies.

I don't see why you can't ask that question...Its a serious subject that we all need to know about and be wary of when taking meds . Like you say ...knowledge is power....I'm sure someone else has talked about this in the past...may be they will see this blog and get back to you. It's bringing things like this to everyones attention that could save someone a lot of pain and distress!
