My GP says that my thyroid is normal (latest result TSH 3.99 ) He has diagnosed restless leg syndrome and prescribed pramipexole which is a dopaminergic and sometimes given to early parkinsons patients. He has not tested
dopamine

Did anyone use this? If so did it work. My dad is getting it for PD. The Doctor said it works miracles. I am concerned about the side effects. Thanks

If I can get well, why can't others.
Initially corrected brain chemical imbalances, particularly improving a naturally occurring brain chemical called
dopamine
. 3. Cleaned up my diet and eliminated milk, a food that was causing trouble for me. 4. Cleaned up some toxins.

Beating Down Chemo's Ill Effects
Chemo turns that center on by causing the body to release serotonin,
dopamine
, and histamine. Fortunately anti-nausea drugs have gotten better at working around this glitch. Compazine is often effective in that it blocks

How to Increase Dopamine Naturally ?
High stress levels are strongly correlated with
dopamine
deficiency. Reserving some time each day to set aside your problems and think calming thoughts will help alleviate this stress and allow the
dopamine
to flow. 3 Exercise.

Dopamine Agonists
If we accept in most cases RLS is related to the shortage of
dopamine
as a neurotransmitter in brain and therefore
dopamine
agonists are prescribed, then why they work fine in the beginning and then they worsen the symptoms of RLS in considerable number of cases ?!! :(

Hello again
My doctor was quite shocked when she first saw it and said I was obviously allergic to
Dopamine
. My skin is nicely healed now and I have invested in an electric massager and that with the tablets my doctor has given me (Temazepam) I am at last getting some sleep .

Duo Dopamine pump
They talked about a Duo
Dopamine
pump which pumps a continuous flow of
dopamine
into the small intestine. It has been used in Europe since 2004 but is expected to be approved for the US in the next 1-2 years.

“To puff or not to puff ?”
And because it jacks up
dopamine
levels, it helps ward off Parkinson's disease. Of course, these benefits seem to be side effects of the hazards of smoking, so the trade-off hardly seems worth it!

Differences between RLS & Peripheral Neuropathy
If I am right RLS is associated with deficiency of neurotransmitter(

Nicotine Addiction ! Interesting article on why it is hard to stop AND why its worth it .
Nicotine tricks your brain by stimulating the reward pathways with a shot of
dopamine
, the hormone that tells us that things like food and sex are pleasurable. It also increases activity in the cholinergic pathways of the brain.

Causes of Restless Leg Syndrome
I don't know if
dopamine
can be measured clinically. I don't know what else I could do to figure out the cause of my RLS Your comments are greatly appreciated. :)

Continued progress in using own skin cells for Parkinson's!!
Two years ago, researchers in Lund were the first in the world to re-programme human skin cells, known as fibroblasts, to
dopamine
-producing nerve cells without taking a detour via the stem cell stage.

Levodopa and related drugs known as
