Feel like giving up
Hi guys, it's been a little over a month that I started a low carb diet but no significant weight loss up to now. I have cheated several times by eating pastries or fries but on the whole I have maintained the low carb diet. Now after one month I simply feel like giving up but I know I will feel worse

Has weight loss improved your thyroid problems?
I've been reading a lot about the connection between hypothyroidism in weight gain and obesity. It's long been believed that hypothyroidism causes/contributes to obesity because of the metabolic effects of same, but there seems to be more research being done that questions that theory and now some researchers

Salt
Apparently last week was Salt Awareness Week, and me being my usual disorganized self, I just got around to writing some observations about that in the LCHF group. Since some of you are here with medical issues like hypertension, I thought it might be of more general interest: https://healthunlocked.com

Apparently it is (or was, as of yesterday) National Salt Awareness Week, organised by some worthies known as 'Action On Salt' (http://www.actiononsalt.org.uk/), with the hashtag ''#eatlessalt'. If nothing else, the existence of such things probably tells you all you need to know about our unhealthy relationship

Back on the wagon!
My son and family which includes 2 grandkids, left on Saturday after a week's visit. I cooked (and baked!!) to get the meals in the freezer, I baked a yummy cake and made a couple of puds. I was determined not to fall off the wagon (apart from going to the ice cream shop/café where the ice creams are

T3 Supplier
Hi, I have previously been on this site but my email address linked to it was closed 🙈 My thyroid nightmare started with Graves Disease, had iodine treatment which resulted in an underactive thyroid but I still dont feel great without T3, I'm taking 100 T4 and 6.25 T3 but I'm now thinking of changing

Light Interview
Dear Ladies. I have been to light Sheffield today to offer my services. They said they don’t want me to do peer support work at the moment, whilst I am getting counselling myself. She has asked me whether I want to become an ambassador and do some admin work for them. I have taken all my qualifications

IBS for about 16 years
I don't know whether this will help anyone who suffers with IBS as everyone is different, but I have suffered for many years. I take Lanzaprazole 1 a day. I use to get diarrhoea so many days then constipation for 2 days. I tried different meds which were not helping so I tried the root of 3 figs in

When A Low Carb Diet backfires for Type-1 Diabetes
I came across this very intersting article published on Low Carb Diet for Type 1 Diabetes authored by Ms Christina Crowder Anderson published on March 4, 2020. Alternative therapies: what I've learned
I've been on the PMR journey since 2014, and the pred episode since 2015. In that time I've also had an osteoporosis scare. Those interested in what I did about that can read https://healthunlocked.com/pmrgcauk/posts/137578304/my-osteoporosis-journey - a bit dated now, but successful anyway.... When

Irbesartan side effects.
My husband eliminated indigestion by following a low carb diet. Recently indigestion has returned, and it more or less coincided with changing to Irbesartan. Has anyone else noticed this?

Overcoming ADD without Meds
Has anyone tried to overcome their ADD without meds, antidepressants and choose to reduce symptoms with a low-carb diet (no preservatives/sugar/junk food etc.) combined with regular exercise, meditation & positive affirmations etc. I know this is not possible for everyone to improve their ADD symptoms

DBS for non tremor
Hi all. An acquaintance of mine who has the wonderful disease was told by their PD nurse that DBS wasn’t really an option as he had no tremor. I’m a little surprised at this remark and wondered what the community thinks about this. Thanks and best wishes 😊

Quiche
This was what I had tonight. I also had asparagus and a Greek yogurt on the side. The crust was made with yellow rice and two different types of cheese and fake bacon pieces mixed in. Very good and low carb high protein. There are leftovers for another dinner.😀👍

Weight loss and carbs for PMR
I’m looking for any advice or recommendations please for losing weight whilst on Predisnolone. I am currently slowly tapering from 15mg last July when first diagnosed with PMR to 8.5mg now. I have been overweight for many years & although I have managed not to put on any more weight I cannot lose any

Is our Poo a Crystal Ball into our health destiny ? Auntie Bee did a little research to see if the truth is in our bowels.
After reading a post yesterday suggesting that using DNA or Gut Microflora testing may help me see into the Future of my long term health my curiosity was peeked . Is the Bioflora of my gut the " forgotten organ" with insight into the probability of my chances to get another autoimmune disease or cancer
