Is our Poo a Crystal Ball into our health destiny ? Auntie Bee did a little research to see if the truth is in our bowels.
After reading a post yesterday suggesting that using DNA or Gut Microflora testing may help me see into the Future of my long term health my curiosity was peeked . Is the Bioflora of my gut the " forgotten organ" with insight into the probability of my chances to get another autoimmune disease or cancer

Tuesday - pancake day
All this talk of waffles, anyone got a good low carb pancake mix for next Tuesday please. Only one I can find is made with almond flour more like drop scones did a dummy run and we found them acceptable but gritty?

DBS truly reversible?
Hi all, In all the DBS vs FUS posts the argument is that DBS is reversible. The two people I know who had DBS pulled are in horrible shape - one had a stroke from it. I also know of a number of people where DBS made them worse or did nothing. So for my own knowledge - do you know people where it has

Bone broth vs collagen powder
I've been looking at LCHF recipes which include collagen powder as an ingredient. I googled that to find out what it is. The answer scared me but then I read that bone broth has a useful supply of collagen. Does anyone take collagen powder or make bone broth? If so, how?

Low carb.....again.
In my never ending search for more low carb goodies to brighten my life I spend many an hour searching the web, there are numerous helpful sites and blogs. Another of my hunting grounds is Amazon, looking inside recipe books. The other day I discovered chaffles, a low carb waffle. Basically a batter

To Eat Meat or Not to Eat Meat: That is the question.
Ok, so I was going through the modules of KidneySchool.org and ran across this: "But What About a Low Protein Diet? If you have chronic kidney disease, your doctor may suggest a low protein diet. Some doctors believe that eating less protein may help the kidneys work a little longer. But doctors do

RLS with pain
I have suffered with RLS most of my adult life. It was in our family long before it had a medical diagnosis or a name. Our name got it was “ nervous legs”. My mother had it, I had it and now my two sisters have it. Occasionally my son and daughter also have it. It sounds genetic but actually it is not

Improved Fibroscan with low carb diet
HI everyone: After losing 75 pounds with a low carb diet (i weighed 225 due to an anti depressant), my Fibroscan total fat level went down from approximately 75%(over 325) to under 10% (225). The diet was very very challenging, but feeling proud that I did it...now to stay on the diet to keep blood

Losing weight too fast?
I was reading around and I came across some suggestions that if you lose weight too quickly that your body goes into starvation lockdown, you stop losing weight and it hampers your ongoing weight-loss. Does anyone have any experience of this please? To give context, over a 29 week period, I've lost 28.5

Lunch inspirations
As some newbies have joined recently I thought you might like to see my lunch today. I only eat two meals a day, low carb, high fat. On the right is miso and sea vegetable soup 🥣 with fried cauliflower, spinach, mushrooms and cream, top is a cucumber, egg and spinach raita. On the left, nibbles were

Raised GGT & ALT and generally feeling unwell.
Hi there, I'm new to all this and was wondering if anyone had any advice to try and ease my mind. I have been quite ill for a few months (bouts of diarrhoea, sickness, stomach pain and bloating and generally feeling crappy and lethargic). 3 weeks ago I ended up in excruciating pain just under my ribs

Feel so low
Good morning Today I have woken feeling poorly and not well inside my body. It’s hard to explain. I have been following low carb for 3 weeks and although I had a loss first week 8lbs I have stayed the same the last 2 weeks. I do feel I have lost inches but just don’t feel healthy if that makes sense?

Looking to try the LCHF as a last resort!
Hi all, I am a newbie. I would like to know the specifics of the low carb high fat diet, the induction phase and weight loss phase meals and what to eat at these stages, perhaps a meal plan for these stages if that's ok. Looking for a sustainable weight loss, and determination to see it thru this time

Ok, I'm bad. I just turned 63 and my home general DR. insists on a colonoscopy. I have never.... I mean you know "exit only" had one.
My question is: Should I be concerned about my DBS considering they are giving me a "party girl" drip? I tolerated Cateract procedure 5 years ago w/o any concerns but the dr. says this will take a little longer and I am a few years further into noticeable progressions than I was at that time. For

Hi I have been diagnosed as a coeliac for 2 years now, I follow a strict gluten free diet, have the occasional problems with cross contamination when eating out. How Do I Handle My Severe Stress?
I'm new here. My husband has diabetes and kidney disease with projected dialysis beginning in 2 to 4 years. He's been on a low carb diet, lost a lot of weight, reduced his insulin significantly, when suddenly, almost overnight, his creatinine levels went bad. Now his blood pressure is very high (200
