Pioneering calculator helps to prevent diabetes misdiagnosis. 💚
Hi everyone, Here's an interesting article about a calculator that combines a patients health data with their blood sugar readings to speed up diagnosis and prevent misdiagnosis. It seems obvious to me to look at a persons health record when diagnosing issues but if it works and helps prevent misdiagnosis

Feel so relieved
So I went to see my nurse today after my hba1c bloods came back abnormal and I’m pleased to say I’m still below type 2 diabetes but I must change my lifestyle to lower it if I don’t want to get it so I can actually stop worrying about it now Just want to thank everyone for their advice and reassurance

The best artificial sweeteners for people with diabetes 💚
Hi everyone, After Matt's poll on artificial sugars I thought that it would be useful to put a different spin with a guide of the 'best' artificial sweetener for those with diabetes. I avoid artificial sugars but am still interested and was interested in what Tibblington said about Neotame and thats listed

Getting too skinny- follow up
Thank you everyone for your suggestions and replies. I’m looking for a new GP and will follow up when I find one. I have an appointment with my rheumy in a week and will discuss the weight loss with her. I will get my thyroid checked. There’s also the option of a consultation with a dietician

Taking Levothyroxine during a Water Fast
I have done a couple of 5 day water fast. Whilst fasting I continued to take my normal dosage of thyroxine without having any apparent adverse affects. I’m not taking any additional supplements at the moment. I’m now questioning this, having read that continuing medication at the normal dose was not

High cholesterol
I haven’t posted in awhile. I’m hoping that all of you are well. My cholesterol has been elevating since diagnosis. It was usually my good cholesterol and triglycerides causing this elevation. Now it’s my LDL at 147. My dr prescribed fish oil to lower triglycerides. My triglycerides are normal now.

Questions, unanswered questions and implied questions ?
We all have unanswered questions. we all ask one question and see if we can find the correct answer! What is fasting blood glucose test and ? What is HbA1c1 blood test and why? Is there a new guide line to HbA1c level? How is insulin dosage calculated? Is life style change and regular exercise important

Reducing the stresses helps to control diabetes to a large extent.
I was diagnosed as type 2 diabetic in 1988.My HbAc1 has never gone beyond 7.5% but my medications went on increasing and once upon a time I was taking Januvia 50 twice daily before that I took Amaryl M2 thrice daily. I am a project management executive and my doctor advised me that my job stresses are
