Working out on an empty stomach before breakfast could help fight off type 2 diabetes because it 'makes the body more efficient.

I came across this article in the copy of Mail.:

Working out on an empty stomach before breakfast could help fight off type 2 diabetes because it 'makes the body more efficient at using insulin', study finds

Exercising in a fasted state helped people control their blood sugar levels more

They are 'insulin sensitive', which means they are more responsive to insulin

The opposite, 'insulin resistant', is a risk factor type 2 diabetes.

I did not know this, I was led to believe that breakfast is an important meal of the day!!!!

Research it properly before you take the word of a newspaper, it might be right but its best to look into it more just to be sure.

It is interesting though.

Thanks for all the response. Recently there have been many articles on health in the news paper. I read them and at times do a post.

I do not know how an individual can test this as NHS do not offer insulin testing.

I read another article on (RICE) for pain, rest, ice compression and elevation. It appears that a frozen bag of peas do not help!

When I had knee problem I tried it, yes it did not help me.

Did you get physical therapy for the knee?

I am afraid no, this is because I can walk Ito a GP practice. I look fit as well, but internal problems like knee and hip difficult for a GP to see it!!!!. I am managing my age related problems.

What if in the fasting state the person is already in hypoglycemia?

Working out in a fasted state is not apt for such individuals.

Always prudent to scientifically collaborate with readings before starting a new dietary or workout regime.

Yeah, people with hypoglycemic tendency can have one/two biscuits to thwart such tendencies while doing exercises👍🏼. This’s my personal opinion.

It also depends on the style of living of the people concerned. If you rise from bed at 7 am how can you maintain the schedule of exercise with breakfast. I think it applies to the people who goes to bed early and rise in the morning early
