Worried about husband type 2 diabetic
My husband is on metformin and has now had it increased to 2000 mg daily with another tab now included called for Dapagliflozin 10mg, but when he’s using the urine dipstick the colour is dark brown which indicates far too much sugar, he’s been passing blood for three weeks and was given antibiotics for

Sea air and liver disease
This may seem a very random question, but I wondered if anyone lives by the sea, regularly exercises on the beach or swims, rows or does some boating activity?! If so, has inhaling the salty air had any adverse affect upon your liver disease in terms of fluid retention, sudden change in diuretic dose

Neurologic vs physical symptoms of PD
Is it possible to have no physical symptoms but have neurologic symptoms? I don't have bradykinesia or balance problems or freezing. I take rytary daily. I spend hours jogging or using a treadmill in bad weather. I use a motorcycle to get around. How can I convince others that my mind still

Plant Sterols and Levothyroxine
Being hypothyroid my cholesterol levels have been quite high-last reading was 7, 2 years ago. Have been using a proactive margerine as don't want to go on statins. Has anyone had any success with plant sterol supplements? Are they tolerated with levothyroxine? Any anecdotal experiences would be appreciated

Stem cell-based implants successfully secrete insulin in patients with type 1 diabetes...Big Hope...
Interim results from a multicenter clinical trial demonstrate insulin secretion from engrafted cells in patients with type 1 diabetes. The safety, tolerability, and efficacy of the implants, which consisted of pancreatic endoderm cells derived from human pluripotent stem cells (PSCs), were tested

Solutions for GP’s ?
I’ve just been involved in a conversation on this site re the disappearance of GP’s and the probability that we may never return to the pre COVID system of face to face appointments and a friendly local GP coming to visit you in your own home All the participants in the conversation are equally baffled

Opinions on Hemp creams.
Hello everyone, I've recently decided to purchase some compression gloves for my hands and this cream called Hemp Active cream by 5kind popped up on my screen. It has a lot of good reviews but they also have a stronger version. I'm posting this because I've used Voltarol in the past and it doesn't really

cramps and other side effects of spironolactone
I recently raised the issue I had been suffering over the last few months - excruciatingly painful full leg cramps, and sometimes accompanied by stomach and arm cramps. I spoke with my GP about this, had a blood test which showed normal levels of everything.....and no reason given apart from that this

Protein in the blood could predict Type 2 Diabetes years before it develops. 💙
Hi everyone, This is interesting research and done on a large scale in Sweden which has found that a precursor to developing Type 2 Diabetes is the protein follisatin which’s produced in the liver. This has lots of potential to help prevent Type 2 Diabetes from manifesting itself by alerting people to
