This has been the case for a few years now. I am 25 years old and i have diabetic symptoms, poor blood circulation, get really shaky and dizzy when i dont eat for long periods, tired, lack of energy, hypoglycemic symptoms when i dont eat enough carbs. I do live a very sedentary lifestyle and dont exercise at all.

why do i have diabetic symptoms but my blood sugar levels are fine?
Even if you don't have diabetes, you may not have normal glucose. There are a lot of people with glucose dysfunction out there who don't even know it. You should inform your doctor just so he is aware. If you go for long periods of not eating this can cause some of the symptoms you are experiencing, so try to have small meals throughout the day. Maybe start a walking regime for yourself, even if you only go around the block. Anything is better than nothing at all, as they say.
yes i will thanks. also my auntie just got diagnosed with diabetes last year so i know im at risk for it
You are welcome, healthiskey. Sorry that you and your aunt are both dealing with diabetes. You can at least support and help each other. Maybe get her on board for some walking. 😉 A buddy system tends to work well to keep you motivated.
Hi healthiskey ,
Has your doctor suggested that you count your carbs. when eating meals and/or snacks? What do you eat for snacks/meals? How many hours do you wait between meals each day? Here's the free leaflets from the DRWF website that you can download/read/show to your doctor anytime. Please see: drwf.org.uk/understanding-d...
I haven't talked to my doctor about this much. I remember getting tested for diabetes though a long time ago when i was having the same symptoms.
Worth also considering other health issues, such as thyroid, coeliac disease or nutrient deficiencies like B12 or anemia.
When you say carbs, what sort of carbs are you eating? Are they processed/simple carbs, or wholegrains/fibre rich carbs?
I think there is a correlation between adrenal fatigue/cortisol and blood sugar. I had hypo-adrenia (low cortisol) which directly effected my levels throughout the night (early morning) they would be very low. I had to eat a high protein snack before bed until I eventually cured my low cortisol with ACE (adrenal cortisol extract). Once I healed my adrenals my blood sugar levels stabilized.
To get an "accurate" reading of your cortisol levels you'll need to do a 24 hour saliva test.
Maybe you are not consuming enough fat which means that yiu rely on carboydrates for all your energy. You body will produce insulin to keep your blood sugar witbin pretty tight limits by driving your cells to condume of store it and when you consume foods with a high glycaemic index the insulin release is high but if the glycaemic load is only moderate you will have a reboun effect where the insulin reduces your blood sugar too much. The answer is to avoid refined sugar and starch as in white bread, fuit juice and other processed foods.
