Alpha Lipoic Acid and its benefits
Hi All, I stumbled upon multiple videos when reading about the cause of peripheral neuropathy, its causes and how it can be kept it control, if not cured. The hero of this read was Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA in short). So, I would like to summarize what I have listened so far. The main functions of the

Update on 2 am dose
Nice idea while it lasted. The upside, which is grand, is waking up with no signs of PMR. The downside for me, though of course maybe not for you, is sleep loss, which has caused me to abandon it. Always been a night owl but since PMR I have been running on a 12-14 hour day, broadly waking around

Levothyroxine and eating
Hi, Can you help me please? I'm trying to improve my levels and one measure is trying to tighten up when I take my Levo around food/drinks. I must admit I've been pretty slack with this over time. I began first of all a few years ago by getting up early and taking an hour before food and drinks. That

Bruises, Ankles Swelling, ETC.
Never a dull moment. Diagnosed with PMR since Jan '22 and now at 32 mg. Pred after that GCA scare in Jan. 2 3. I am 73, but the bruising has just begun. Nasty ones and I don't remember bumping the areas where they are (like the joint of my big toe at the side), so it doesn't take much. Presuming thinning

Plant Sterols for reduction of cholesterol
Not necessarily related to PMR as I have had high cholesterol since I first started having blood tests years ago. My 'good' and 'bad' have always been about the same level. My current GP suggested statins. I declined. She then suggested trying plant sterols. I've ordered a couple pf packs from

newbie uc proctitis
I officially was dx’d with uc proctitis in fall of 2022 after serious bleeding for 8 days and explosive bms. Went into remission for a few wonderful months n as my gastro weaned me back off mesalmine suppositories, my proctitis flared again. Does anyone here have it, and what do u do for rectal pain.

I said I would update the community with the outcome of my surgery which I had on April 20. Was monitored by echo every

Follow up post op
Hi again folks, thanks for the support. All went well with surgeon yesterday. However no real physical check up! 🤨He went by my recent trip to A&E after anxiety attack last weekend. Taken me off the diuretic and stop the Apixaban 23rd May. We'll see you again in 12months! Such confidence he's fixed

Fluctuating Billirubin
Has anyone experienced a higher billirubin. My got way better to 19 but now at 28 again. I’ve been told this might be because my diuretic dose is high. 300mg spironalactone and 120mg fuerusamide? Thanks.

Hypo weight gain mystery is now finally revealed for me (anyway)
Some great posts here recently covering various aspects of blood sugar levels and hypo condition: -Dawn effect whereby blood sugar tends to rise between 4-8am -Evidence that taking Levo pills provides a spike in blood sugar -Hypo condition anyway leads to slower metabolism and less regulated insulin

Blue Horizon Microbiome Test
I've had my results back. My gut microbiome shares my age, so that's not so bad. I have a high indication for autoimmune diseases. ( no sh*t, Sherlock) No vitamin deficiencies. I should eat more soybean ( no thanks) and there is a reason I've never liked bananas - according to the test, I shouldn't

what next for me?
hello, apart from being 76 there is absolutely none of the usual reasons my BP is high. And only in the last year, before that I never had a reading above 135/80. Am on amlodipine 5mg which has reduced some scarily high readings to an average of 150/95. Have just sent a weeks worth of readings to

Never ending problems
I am going to moan - big time - because I am getting to the point where I don't know which way to turn. I have Hashimotos Thyroiditis, Arthritis, Pernicious Anaemia, Hypertension, Coeliac disease and now some unexplained kidney problem. I have had an MRI which has shown a problem but I don't know what

My Current Stack (What is in Yours?)
Fabnusasked me what my current stack was so I am sharing it here. Please remember I have not been diagnosed with PD. I have RBD and some other symptoms.
Also remember I have a HS degree, poor impulse control, and I am prone to bad decisions. Please do your own research.
