Indapimide and Losartan

Hello Everyone,

So I have been on Losartan 25mg for about 10 months,46 year old .I am fit ,Exercise extremely eat right no red meats and everything in the book.

Due to recent sleep disturbances and my numbers staying in the 140/77 range sometimes gets the 130s/78 but mostly in the 140s .

I saw my consultant cardiologist who recommended the holt heart monitor and 24 hour ambulatory BP readings.the results were turned in a couple of weeks ago.

He has advised I consider adding indapimide 1.5mg to the Losartan 25mg as a dual therapy to get better efficacy and synergistic results that will cancel out side effects of both.

I have done my research indapimide clears off the sodium and potassium while Losartan brings in the potassium.Will my body not get confused or does this lead to a metabolic equilibrium?

For the veterans on this forum who might be using this combination please advise what are your experiences.I know our bodies react differently and all that.But a diuretic reduces fluids and should I be concerned on erectile consequences.So many questions.

Please advise before I include the indapimide or should I just up the Losartan dose to 50mg or switch to the indapimide 1.5mg and cut off the Losartan so I know I am dealing with just one medication rather than two with different features.

Or I can just give the dual therapy a try and see how I tolerate it as well as monitor the results

Just want some inputs so I can get my ducks in a row and proceed as best

these meds and their prescribing of is very individualistic. I was given Losartin by GP for it to be cancelled by cardiology nurse in consult. with cardiac doc. I also have high blood pressure and some kidney problems....highish potassium and creatinine.I was on Furosimide and Spironolactone which was perfect for 2 years and then the potassium spiked and blood pressure which had always been good started to go up...so Spironolactone was cancelled and Furosemide left to deal, ineffectively, with blood pressure and fluid control around heart. So you see how complex it can become.
