NHS text re wifi alerts

You Should have recently received a text from your NHS GP warning you of the following, if you are nervous, vulnerable or prone to stress.

The UK government will test out their emergency alert system on the on the evening of Sunday 23 April 2023 on all 4G and 5G networks.

Your devices will make a loud “siren-like sound” even if they’re on silent, as well as vibrate.

Your Phones and tablets will be locked until you acknowledge the warning.

If you respond, these sirens will be used in future for lock-downs, evacuations, tracking etc in case of any perceived emergency event. Planned events range from further new pandemics, terrorist threats, weather events and even "off planet" events.. (project bluebeam).

If you're ok with this then you don't need to do anything, however if not, simple instructions are outlined below and there's plenty more info available online.

Also please help anyone you know who may not be that tech savvy.

Again, just passing on information, not discussing or suggesting that you should react in either one way or another, just make your own mind up.

My husband and I quite often doze off in an evening. Using this option is very tempting.

Basically I think its a good idea, we don't spend time crouched around the wireless listening for the Prime Minister telling us the German's or Russians are coming. 😉Put a cushion over the phone and be ready to acknowledge; no problem for us I can see it will be for others. xx

I’ve had a notification telling me that my Ventolin is going to be changed to Salamol in order to save the planet. 🙄 I’d no idea I was causing so much trouble.🙁

I think its a load of nonsense and refused to have it changed as they tried it before and it doesn't work for me. Now if they stop chopping down the rain forest or using wood fires then i could understand it. I will remain a little trouble maker Don x

We have this system in Japan for the missiles North Korea keep shooting over and earthquakes in particular. But nothing gets locked. We are used to it now. I'm not a fan but it's good to know when a potentially big quake is about to start. 🥴
