Bilateral adrenal enlargement
Feeling very confused. I’ve had a ct scan for a heart related situation which found a couple of worrying g things. A lung nodule was found and I had a PET scan to rule out anything sinister. Also adrenal gland enlargement appeared to be found but nobody has investigated that further or even made mention

At last Low Carbs!
Finally I have decided to add in Low/No Carbs, Keto to our Intermittent Fasting regime. I do hope it works. We've been doing it since since Thursday and so far so good. I see 1 kilo less than a week or so ago (I don't weigh myself very often). Despite now being at almost 7mg from 15mg I have put on

Antioxidants
I’m aware of the situation with antioxidants and cancer, in particular with chemo. I was told that Alpha Lipoic Acid 600 mg daily and B-6 50 mg daily can help with neuropathy from Taxotere. I’m curious as to hear from others on this. Related: what about antioxidants in conjunction with immunotherapy

Intermittent fasting: off topic but might interest some folks on the forum...
From Chris Kresser’s weekly email. Apologies in advance for including the whole thing, though minus the sales pitch. I recently came across a great new paper in the New England Journal of Medicine called “Effects of Intermittent Fasting on Health, Aging, and Disease.” It summarizes the accumulating

Mmc results in... Trisomy 9. Anyone had this and gone on to have subsequent normal birth?
Discovered my amh has dropped from 45.2 to 24.3 in just 11 months. Shocked at the dramatic drop but still high for my age at 39. Had the results of my mmc today. Trisomy 9. Been told this is rare and chance of recurrent miscarriage low. She was a baby girl. Although has been found wrong with me fertility

Hello All, My FBS has increased quite a bit for the last 10 days. It use be in the range of 90s (mg/dL). It suddenly increased to 120 mg/dL one day early last week. Ever since for the last 10 days or so, it is staying 100+(mg/dL). I have not made any major changes in my diet or physical activities. Yesterday

Amitriptyline update
Amitriptyline update, you was all correct and the bloody stuff made my RLS/PLMD Worse. Also didn't help my spinal pain at all. My GP has recommended Pregabalin to battle both RLS and Spine pain and my question is does anyone have success with Pregabalin with RLS

Levodopa-Induced Euphoria and Addictions in Parkinson’s. It's of concern for people with neuropsychiatric fluctuations between ON and OFF.
I'm referencing a 2017 research article. Some people have more significant neuropsychiatric fluctuations between ON and OFF levodopa drug treatment states. These people seem to be more at risk for triggered addictive behavior and drug abuse. The conclusion of the abstract is "The psychostimulant effects

My son was diagnosed with arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy in March 2019. He is on the autistic spectrum and loved his running, swimming and cycling prior to being diagnosed. He was fitted with an ICD in April 2019 and originally put on 1.25mg of bisoprolol fumarate. This seem to

Tedsui looking for support
Hi - I'm a newbie to this site as my husband has recently been diagnosed with Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (this wasn't an option in the search box so I ticked PBC instead) He attends our local hospital weekly for blood tests and was an in-patient from 2l to 24 January 2020, as his liver blood results

No Symptoms of diabetes, but taking Metformin
I have recently been told I am diabetic, but the only symptom I had was thrush twice. I have been taking Metformin for a week now. How do I tell if they are helping please? Is it just the blood test every 3 months that will tell me if they are working? Thank you.

Prof D’Cruz and neuropathies, advice needed please.
Hi everyone, any of you who have been to see Prof D’Cruz, could you tell me if deals with neuropathies? Peripheral, autonomic and CNS. I need help and my Rheumatologist is more specialised in RA, there’s not that many Lupus patients with overlaps or even without? Would I have to go private? How do I

Resources for symptom tracking
So many in this community recommend symptom tracking....and I'm finally getting around to doing it! I've been using the Symple app, so I wanted to share this resource: https://www.sympleapp.com/ I had to purchase the premium version, which allows you to enter custom symptoms. So far it's pretty easy

Effect of rhTSH on Lipids.
We can speculate. If rising TSH causes total cholesterol, triglycerides and high density lipoprotein cholesterol all to rise, why is it OK for people to see their TSH allowed to reach 10.0 (or higher) before any treatment? (Of course, we also have all the questions over the real importance of cholesterol
