In January I was sent for blood tests by a gynaecologist and he happened to check my thyroid as he was doing a full check. I was told by the GP that the results showed i had a ’massively’ underactive thyroid and she went through the symptoms with me- most of which I’d been suffering with but I’d put

Ramadan Update 1
So, having embarked on what most people would consider a radical fasting/exercise/LCHF programme, how is it panning out? Well, pretty good so far. I’m now one week into the experiment and have stuck to the outline concept rigidly, the main part, of course, being the fasting. So how has that gone, have

Can type 2 diabetes be reversed?
I have AFib as well as type 2
diabetes
which complicates things. I’m on low carb
diet
. Looking for other recommendations for losing weight. I have resistance bands but have not used them as I don’t know how to.

Gestational diabetes - diet/exercise tips?
Hello I’m currently 17+3 and was recently told I’m high risk for GD. My BMI was on the lower end of normal (19) before I got pregnant, but I’m 38, have severe PCOS and have had rapid weight gain during the pregnancy. Just got a letter to say my blood test showed raised blood sugar so I’m booked in

RA and gluten free
I’m finding non-evidenced research online about gluten-free diets being useful for lowering inflammation in RA. Does anyone on here follow a gluten-free diet and see a marked benefit?

Dr. John Madany
I'm putting this up because the good doctor is so enthusiastic and joyful at just how LCHF can change lives. Truly inspirational. Maddeningly, and as usual, putting a link up here is problematic or downright impossible. Go to the tube and enter 'Brendan Reid and Dr. John Madany'.

Medication help
Hi all, I hope everyone is as well as can be at the moment. I was diagnosed roughly 2 years ago and put on pentasa suppositories. October time last year I reported to my gastro doc that I was having more blood & mucus. She requested a calprotectin test which came back as elevated then put me on pentasa

D3 and K2
Just venting really. It seems I'm unable to get hold of the Better You D3 and K2 spray since it was mentioned on the news and various daytime TV shows that it helps immunity. Seems Better You spray is the new toilet roll and pasta. Can't get it anywhere online as people have been panic buying it, no

I was in contact with my nephew the other day and he mentioned he'd been on a 16 hour dry fast. I was puzzled, especially the 'dry' bit until the penny dropped. He's a practising Muslim. The rules are, nothing to eat or drink from sunrise to sunset - for 30 days. You can eat a little just before the

Loving the scale today.
I have lost 5 lbs since I got back on LCHF. I am so pleased. Diet doctor has been helpful along with the books my mom loaned me. Now to try and get my hubby onboard with the lifestyle change. 😏

Diabetics are Vulnerable to Covid19- Precautions to be taken
From the data so far, it appears that people with Diabetes tend to get infected easily by Covid19 unless adequate precautions are taken...and especially if the Diabetic is more than 60 years, the risk further increases. I’m a idiot!!!!
Morning Well it official, I’m an idiot and decided to sabotage my LCHF eating plan. It started with a few bottles of cherry Pepsi max (I stopped drinking this maybe 8 months ago) then washed down with bags of crisps, and this is a nightly occurrence, (only at night) in fact this has been going on for

Loving low carb
I don’t feel hungry any more and I am so satisfied. This has been easier than the first time I tried it. I guess bc I have more knowledge this time. I don’t know. Thanks for all the support here.
