Balancing diabetes with PD
Between a rock and a hard place. My husband is 26 years into PD. He is now also pre diabetic. How can you balance what foods to eat. Too many carbs turn into sugar and too much protein stops PD meds working properly. He tried Metformin but felt it was affecting his PD. The more carbs he has the more

Coeliac Disease
Hi, I have been following a gluten free diet for many months one. I recently had an endoscopy to show if I have coeliacs disease. It came back as positive. The gastro enterologist said that the only way he could determine if I was a coeliac was if I was still eating it. The endoscopy shows I have

How cholesterol varies among us
There has been quite a lot of discussion about cholesterol recently. Sometimes it looks as if anyone who is hypothyroid will have high cholesterol (however measured). Also, that this high cholesterol will remain high in many of us. Thought I’d point out that it is perfectly possible to have low cholesterol

Ataxia (SCA6) and T2 diabetes
I have just been given tablets (Metformin 2 a day) for a recent Type 2 diabetes diagnosis, I also have SCA6 Ataxia... they made me feel crap, and am sure my walking/mobility has been made worse... or am I just imagining it, and my mobility is actually getting worse :-(

Cream instead of potatoes
Following on from my previous post about cream: https://healthunlocked.com/lchf-diet/posts/144145897/is-cream-a-good-lchf-food-as-part-of-a-balanced-diet I have been eating four jacket potatoes a day as a cost-effective way to keep my weight up. I've just had 3 days of heck with this cholesterol lowering drug. It could be all the E numbers or the povidone but my bs has been high for the three days along with many side effects. I certainly couldn't go through another day of it, so I'm giving up. The reason I was trying it is because I

Any one looked at South Asian BMI chart? What is your understanding?
What is the relationship between South Asian BMI and type 2 diabetes? Type 2 diabetes "Is it over weight or genetic?" "How do we find this out?" "Type 2 diabetes can be triggered by a ‘weight threshold’ meaning millions could avoid it by controlling their eating – and most cases of the condition are

Breastfeeding/formula
My baby was given 10ml formula after her birth as she was not taking breast milk. Now I’ve been told I will need to keep topping her up to this amount with formula after breastfeeding to keep her blood sugar levels up. I am confused why this is and want to only breastfeed her but this isn’t going well

Glucose tolerance Test
Hi everyone, I have a glucose tolerance test this month. The midwife informed me that I have to put 17 glucose tablet's in a cup and drink. Was just a bit worried if it would be too much of sugar and would it harm the baby. Would be comforting to know about your experiences. Thank you all

HbA1c 51 to 35 in six months
The specialist said it was all

trial & eye checks. The GP said rubbish, my result HbA1c 51 was mild and not possibly causing any symptoms. I was sent off with the advice “reduce carbs” & retest in a few months.

How to Strengthen the mussels controlling the excretions ?
I am 71 Type 2 since 2000 kept under control and strictly following LCHF since 2014. It is felt, since of late, the mussels controlling the excretions are not functioning well as they used to. Fasting Low Blood Sugar increases Cardio-vascular Related Death even in Non-diabetes- Study reveals
It is a well known fact that Low blood sugar is dangerous for Diabetes .....if the blood sugar falls below 80 mg/dl.....it would harm in many ways... mainly CV risk and at times a person can collapse .... Fasting blood sugar more than 126 mg/ dl is also not desirable though not as dangerous as low blood
