CPAP machine
I knew with my weight gain I was a candidate for CPAP. Well I took the test and I shocked the nurse reading my report. Let's just say mine was severe sleep apnea. The only symptom I had was on occasion I would wake up gasping for air. Well, I have been on it now for a month and what a change. I am

Sleep Apnea - any experience or advice.
Hello everyone , It seems after seeing my " thyroid doctor" to asses my neck swelling , goitre and nodules , it seems I have sleep apnea . My ultrasound and biopsy results showed thyroiditis. Specialist requested CT scan and sleep apnea test as I have swallowing issues and extreme fatigue. My sleep study

Hybrid Ablation
I had the first stage of my ablation two weeks ago, cox maze but with endoscope access through chest. Some of the time early on I felt truly awful, so decided not to post until I had time to settle down and give a proper account (I didn't want to worry anyone about to have the procedure). I had a large

CT Scan says COPD/Emphysema, Dr say no
I was told over 3 years ago that per a CT scan I had emphysema. Pulmonologist says my lungs are stiff, no explanation given. Fast forward to new Pulmonologist who says lungs are stiff because I am retaining C02. Orders a sleep study, diagnosed with moderate sleep apnea, so CPAP was ordered. Just had

Newbie - is there a connection between RLS and obstructive sleep apnoea?
Hi - I'm new here after just watching the documentary on RLS. It's prompted me to seek more information about the condition. I am on CPAP for severe OSA and wonder if anyone has found a link between RSA and OSA? I'm compliant with using CPAP but am increasingly suffering from RLS when I sit in the

Bronchiectasis & Tracheobronchomalacia Exacerbations
I am writing this from my hospital bed actually fuming over the decision of a younger doctor to take me off IV antibiotics and put me back onto oral. Luckily a senior doctor over ruled that decision and I am still on IV meds but for how long 😩😩 I was first admitted at the beginning of March with fever

Self Combustion
I was wondering if that is a side effect from Prednisone.. Because sometimes I wonder if they will find me in a pile of ashes in my recliner. Gosh I hope not I love this chair. But some days it is either cry or combust.. Well today went back for the results of my sleep test.. Why can't I have sleep

Constant yawning, anyone else?
For the past 6 weeks I have been constantly yawning during my gymnastic class. Everyone thinks that I am bored or that I am not getting enough sleep both of which are untrue. My iron is really low at the moment yet since starting CPAP therapy in Nov '16 I am no longer tired during the day. It is only

Floppy airway disease
Just been diagnosed with significant dynamic airway collapse with almost complete closure of entire intra thoracic trachea and main bronchi on expiration - this makes the bronchiectasis harder to control - waiting for a CPAP trial and hoping it will help. Has anyone else had this type of diagnosis ?
